It seems that you're using an outdated browser. Some things may not work as they should (or don't work at all).
We suggest you upgrade newer and better browser like: Chrome, Firefox, Internet Explorer or Opera

Is just me or is anyone else getting between ~50-100% CPU usage when visiting this site?

I'm only getting between 4-6%. That's while viewing the site with Firefox 3, running Steam, and Media Monkey along with some other background tasks. 50-100% seems a little extreme.
The site also steals a lot of CPU power here. Around 22%.
Specs:
Pentium 4 2.4 Ghz
Internet Explorer 7
EDIT: Just checked again, and actually it depends on which area of the site I'm surfing. The forum front page uses around 22%, and the front page of the games catalogue uses about 45-55%. The site front page makes crazy jumps from about 30% up to 99% :)

I've got 20-30% of CPU usage. That's a little too much.
P4 2,8 GHz
Firefox 2.0.0.16

I'm using a PowerMac G5 (PPC 1.8GHz, 512 MB RAM), and the performance hit of visiting this site is negligible.
I'm guessing you have a plugin/extension running amok. Try updating your browser and OS. Also, boot FF in safe mode and compare the performance. Maybe some sort of Proxy or Internet security suite is interfering. Don't disable those, but update them/ask their support staff for a solution.
Obligatory "Maybe you'd be interested in using Opera?" *nudge nudge wink wink*

This site doesn't use any more CPU resources than any other for me, 0%. But I did just notice that the memory usage floats around randomly between 54MB and 70MB.
Intel Core 2 'Quad' Q6600
Vista Home Premium 64bit
Mozilla Firefox 3.0.1

XP SP2, 1,8GhZ
Firefox 2.x
And the forum revs FF up to 40%-65%. Scary, actually.
And I tested it. It's only that high when the GOG forums are up.

We've made some optimalizations, cpu usage shoud drop down. If you could check it and post results ;)
Thanks!

The front page behaves pretty much the same way as before, but the CPU usage has dropped to 0% on the other pages. Thanks for looking in to it :)
It's ok now. Thanks for the quick optimalization. :)

I already posted this in the other thread but I thought I'd add it here too: -
I never personally had the CPU usage problem, but I did have a problem where Firefox 3.0.1's memory usage would drift between 50MB and 70MB seemingly at random. Whatever you did to fix the CPU usage issue seems to have fixed that, just thought you should know.
I find that regardless of what browser I use my cpu useage seems high, mostly because I've got about ten tabs open at home or at work.
