predcon: Something like The Elder Scrolls, where I have almost complete control over the creation of my character. My 'role', if you will. Diablo and its ilk are more like action games that reward you for killing lots of things by making your character stronger, and giving you the option to spend points on special abilities.
Yeah, although now let's be honest: Diablo is a lousy action game and it's definitely not a role-playing-game (it's just using "character development" inspired by a solution found in traditional pen & paper RPG's which is NOT the core feature of these games). An action game is defined by things which are barely present in Diablo and its "clones" (sorry ^^). So who thought that describing Diablo's gameplay with these two terms was a good idea? It's just terrible.
Ian: if I was a clone, I would be ******* rich like Brad Pitt :)
Only if you specifically were a Brad Pitt clone... and had Brad Pitt's ID.
