I would like to see the GOG team release Sid Meier's Railroads that has been fixed to run on VISTA.
http://www.gog.com/wishlist/games/sid_meiers_railroads
vote for it here. And I think that it will take some time to show up since 2K owns the rights to the game

Railroads is *very* inferior to Railroad Tycoon. Wish for that instead ;)

I doubt GOG will bring it here, seeing that 2K Games released it as freeware on their site

I actually tried playing the original RT a short while ago. That didn't last long. As many fond memories I have of the game, I just can't deal with its very dated interface. There's something to be said about modern conveniences.

I tried playing the game, and the interface was a deal breaker. It might be a perfectly fun game, but learning the interface was more than I was willing to put up with, especially since there is a more recent game that's similar.

Pray tell, what game is that? I'm kind of a sucker for these types of games, although I haven't dabbled much in that genre lately.
Just play RT2, it has a very good interface. Railroads is like a childrens version or a minigame.

RT2 and RT3, among others. (I think "Trains!" was another but I've never tried that one.)

Demo for RT2: http://www.tucows.com/preview/206020/Railroad-Tycoon-II

OpenTTD

While a freeware remake of Transport Tycoon Deluxe, not Railroads, you get to build some railroads too, so it's good.

^_^

Anyway, OpenTTD is an awesome version of an awesome game. You should give it a try. :)

Sid Meier's Railroads, it's probably not the same, but it's pretty good.
