lackoo1111: and that's the problem

And as with most things in life, it's personal. Some, myself included, have no problem with the inability to resell as we'd never do it any way.
Sorry, but i have to quote you.

Gexecuter: Steam just announced that Civ 5 will ship with Steamworks, this means that every retail copy will have to be activated trough Steam so that it can use stuff like Steam achievements, auto updating, Etc. And since other digital stores have refused to carry Steamworks titles in the past (modern warfare 2) i guess this means that Civ V is now a Steam exclusive. Discuss.

Dear God No!!!... you just ruined the only game i was looking forward to this year
I will not be buying Civ5, im not going to support anything that forces its users to use steam, if i did it would only end up like my copy of orange box which i still cannot play due download installer/update bullshit.
Im gonna go cry bitter sweet hex teers :'(

Agreed. Maybe if you're getting divorced and you have to sell your games because you need a place to rent and that bitch says "I'm not giving you anything" and you say "Well fuck you" and she goes "Sell your stupid toys" and you go "They're not toys they're collector action figures" and she says "That's good because I put them on eBay" and you slap her and you get detained in jail for domestic abuse and she laughs at you in court and you plot revenge but you're out of money and you ask your mom but she's on holiday so you sell your car for rent but you need to eat so you sell your games. Maybe then you would need to.
And what the hell did I just write?

A no to that one. But nice try.
Civ 4 is good enough... In all these years the basic gameplay and ideas of Civ haven't changed anyway.

AndrewC: Not after you installed it as it gets permanently tied to your Steam account.

For you, maybe. I've never resold any of my PC games.
attention,attention !!!
@ Mr.acare84
If you still need Civ IV from Steam, reply to this post.
I probably won't buy it when it's just out, but I will buy it when it drops in price (and gets good reviews). For example, I've just bought myself civ 4 with the promo on steam. I'll get 10 euro's entertainment out of it, which is enough for me :)
EDIT: also, bunch of resellers. Re-sold any GOG games lately?
