I think he mistook me for an idiot. I seriously doubt Australia's gun politics would allow for the import of foreign military armaments (that are still being tested by said militaries) for the civilian market. Unless of course he's joking, in which case "ha ha".

Cheetoh rounds! Someone else remembers them! :D I shouldn't have to provide photos, I think my saying I was in the military says enough. Also, the M203 is comparable in the sense that it uses a shell projectile and from what I've told has a similar kick to a 12 gauge.

You didn't mention in this thread that you were in the military, did you? I'm not exactly tracking your every step on these boards. Anyway, when were you at Ramstein? I was at Spangdahlem in '02 cross-training with the 52nd Medical Group. I was never happier, being so close to a real Warthog. The wouldn't let me sit in the 'pit, though....

I arrived in Ramstein Feb. 06, left in Sept. 08. I loved Germany, but the base was a shithole. Too many politics, lots of backstabbing and people who don't want to deal with you unless you rank is that of a Senior NCO or above Junior officer level. Also, my career field sucked balls, I was in the 425th Security Forces Squadron. Considering the motto of the unit was "We eat our own" and they took pride in it, it gives you an idea of the base atmosphere.

I liken my military experience in the Air Force to a quote from Deus Ex. It went something like "It's hard to imagine all the years I spent dreaming of working here only to realize its a concrete bunker with some carpet"

As far as A-10's go, I worked on the flightline often, and whenever we had a fighter on the flightline it was treated as a PL1 resource so we had to have a guard posted directly around it at all times. I got assigned to guard an A-10 from Spang one day and spent a lot of time looking over it, but I didn't dare touch it given it was right below the tower.

Ramstein was kinda shitty for aircraft. We had C-130's stationed there, but we saw lots of C-17's and the occasional C-5 arrive every week. Sometimes a KC-135. We also had random civilian cargo lines from Kalitta Air and Lynden Air Cargo (Which is located about 45 mins away from me) which we always joked was filled with top secret cargo.

Cheap reloads do matter. I've had cheap .357 rounds where they were off enough that my firing pin didn't actually touch the primer. They won't harm the gun, that's true, but they are pretty much crap, only good for plinking for fun. Cheap ammo with 30 more grains of powder fires weaker than good loads in my experience. So yes, powder quality matters a ton as well.

I used 3 Lyalvale Express: Supreme Game shells today. The first 2 seemed great, the 3rd cause a pigeon to turn into a red mist of bits of pigeons...

I wouldn't have minded if I hadn't been busy tracking it and hadnt noticed it was right on top of me...
