Navagon: Compared to the number of FPS out there, there's no denying that GOG's collection is hardly inspiring. You could also add racing and sports games to that. But those are mostly done in by licensing issues.
TBH, how many FPS games are there that genuinely deserve to be considered GOGs? It's a serious question. Prior to Doom there were only a handful of games and then there was the period where most of them were Doom clones and not good Doom clones.
It's not really until '96 where there's really a good selection of games worth having here. Several of them are DRM free elsewhere a few are available here.
And most of those games are still available, many of which without DRM at all.
Then you hit the post Halo era and quite frankly things took a real wrong turn and even iD FPS games lost their luster. All in all, it isn't just GOG, there is a generally bad SNR in that genre.
