Hi, just got a new lap top and it could not read my Baldur's Gate 2nd disc. Then I read about gog.com and I got all excited. I bought Baldur's gate 2 and tried to download the first of three downloads for the game and got this message:

"The setup files are corrupted. Please download a new copy of the program."

Now I am not very good with computers and I am very nervous. I know my new computer has Windows 8 on it and I worry that might be where this "corrupted" nonsense is coming from.

Please help someone who is not good with computers. . . .

This is a multi-part game so you need to download all three parts, then run the first part to install it.
You can get the Gog Downloader and it'll do all the work for you. download all the files you need and check there integrity.

First go here and install it: https://secure.gog.com/downloader

then look at the picture i posted, and turn on the downloader

Thank you both. I had not seen the downloader before. I tried it and got a message to send the log file to the nuts and bolts people.
Also, give the GOGdownloader.exe admin rights if you've access and temporarily disable your anti-virus when you either download, burn or install the game as that might help against not enough access (error) or anti-virus hasn't verified the games as non-threats (corruption).
