mrmarioanonym: No, they don't. Just play KOTOR or Baldurs Gate

sheepdragon: KOTOR was released 9 years ago. Baldur's Gate was released 14 years ago. They might have been good then, but they're pretty bad now.
I'm sorry, but that is utter bollocks. Baldur's Gate is better than just about anything that is coming out of game developers these days. BG is hailed as some of the best games in history for a reason, and new RPGs are compared (and utterly fail) with it for that reason.

There is more to games - much more - than fancy graphics and cinematics. Personally I want to PLAY a game rather than WATCH a game.

Edit: After reading it again maybe I misunderstood what you meant? I mean the games still stand up to scrutiny these days as I played it about a year ago without having touched it before and utterly loved the experience. If you mean Bioware may have been good then but not now, then I completely agree with you. BioWare have turned to crap and are only after the money now - and I don't think that is solely down to EA. Game design is overwhelmingly in the hands of BioWare, not EA. And BioWare chose to make the games the way they did, with more focus on shooting stuff and giving their middle finger to the fans that made BioWare what they are (or rather were).

I'm just disappointed that we don't really have the choices and consequences in ME3 that should have been, ME3 as an ending for the trilogy should have been the culmination of the choices you made throughout the entire series, instead we get cameos and little to no change because of the choices we made, and adding insult to injury the choices you made are almost completely irrelevant to the ending.

If there are members here that signed up in 2008 then why is it GOG came out on beta in 2010?

It came out of beta in 2010. The closed public beta started in 2008, and the open beta some time in 2009 I think.
