I don't you like Serious Sam but I love it. Second game is not good but first one is really awesome. And now a team called Prophets of Sam making a new mode in Serious Sam franchise. This mod is remake of first Serious Sam with Serious Engine 2. Mod will be release this year I think. Here are the developers web site and game's web site and a trailer. Last seconds of trailer and Serious Sam's words are awesome. Duke, Freeman, Quake guy, all amateurs. I am the only serious action here out there!

Well I was quite uninterested at first, but after watching the trailer, I can only say this: let's see more serious action!

For someone to lazy to look through their site for the information will the remake do anything other then bring shiney new graphics to the game?

Yes, you can drive vehicles, and new weapons and monsters will be added, new features and new mp modes. Don't be lazy and read the last interview please. :P

After Painkiller I tracked down Serious Sam and I really love it. Hope GOG gets it sometime.

Read the interview, they all seem slightly insane but the total conversion does sound cool. Will have to track down Serious Sam 2 now, didn't actually know it excisted before this thread.

I got Serious Sam 2 when it came out and found out it made me motion sick (!). Ugh. Which is too bad.
