some of the first names are streets of rage altered beast shinobi and crazy taxi

now i can see the first 3 work ( and hopefully this may lead to new games ! )

how about the idea that having these ips turned in to movies can restart their franchises ?
ie games based on the movies
or even new and more games of said franchises ?

yeah thats why you should care
I wish they were using the money to make a good sequel to Sonic.
I can't understand why they have so much difficulty doing this?
Sonic Boom? What a joke!
Great news! Of course, though, after since sega crapstomped on that awesome fanmade streets of rage remake and ordered stopping its distribution (while when it was being worked still, told to the programmers who asked them beforehand that there would be no problem), i am not going to spend even 1 cent to enjoy sega goods anymore.

Great though, i love movies! Streets of Rage and Golden Axe could work out magnificently! The one with a criminal syndicate parallel to the cliche and everyone's favorite mafia themes, and the other one of the "conan the barbarian" type/variety. If they are not stupid enough to censor them, then they have to TRY HARD in order for them not to be good and successful, with such great themes for foundation.

Game to film, or vice-versa, seldom works well.

I beg to differ. The dark knight also disagrees... Batman: Arkham series...? (at least the first 2 games were bomb hits, and after the movies).

The Arkham games are not (to the best of my knowledge) based on the films so that is not relevant. My point was that franchises that are designed to be games, or films, usually (but not always) have problems when transposed to a different media, and experienced in a different way. There have been some successes, but more failures.

im mostly excited about this news because it might mean sega will dust off old series like streets of rage golden axe altered beast crazy taxi and breath new life and games in to them
