Thought I'd post this here as it only seems fair - I'll be giving away a Sci-fi themed game from GOG.com to whoever comes up with the best sci-fi theme idea for my new dance routine.

Details can be found here:

https://www.facebook.com/EvilMissLeele

but I am accepting submissions here as well as I know a lot of people won't want to go off to look at the page. Just pop your idea (remember, it's Burlesque) in the replies. The winner will be selected on the 12th January 2013 and be announced on Facebook and here.

Good luck and thanks for the help!
One of the order of the Adeptus Sororitas, such as the Sisters of Battle, from the Warhammer 40K universe could be pretty cool.... Bit of work for the costume though....

How about Tron Legacy's Sirens? Sexy robot dance in a skintight bodysuit, face paint, maybe some glow in the dark. It could be great for burlesque.

Or maybe Quorra's outfit would work better for you.

Be an alien, from one of the films. You could probably get away with a black headpiece that leave the lower part of your face exposed, but extends the skull. Also, some shiny gear and some gooey drool or slime.

No feathers.

Anyway, I'd click on a link to this.
Klingon Fan Dance
SciFi and dancing? Sounds like a Twi'lek. Finding some Lekku shouldn't be that hard, but painting yourself completely blue (or whatever color you want) could be very time consuming.
not in the competition, but if you want to have an sci-fi inspiration, there is always Chiana from the Farscape series.
Or you could go really oldschool with Metropolis.
Are you looking for ideas just on costuming or for a whole routine? A lot depends on your personal style, be it silly and playful or dark and soulful. Do you consider yourself more of a dancer or a performance artist? At the very least I would say to avoid leaning too heavily on trademarked material, having a generic robot/alien/post apocalyptic raider theme will give you more freedom to express yourself.
If you want bright and colourful you could always get costume inspiration from The Fifth Element, everything from Leeloo's skimpy "bandages" to Ruby Rhod's bright outfits :)
You could always do SHODAN.

I thought so too.

Another option could be Blade Runner. Google for Zhora/Ms. Salome. You would probably need a snake for an authentic look though. ;-)

Another SciFi movie that always comes to my mind when thinking about dance is Running Man. The show girls ballet during the show had always something iconic to the movie setting.

*Not really in for the give-away. Just randomly thinking about SciFi movies. ;-)
Allright! This is by far the sexiest GA I've ever seen! ;-)

I have three ideas for you.

1. Princess Leia - slave bikini's, with attached chains to have you pulled anywhere on stage you want, you could use the chains to remove some initial clothing or whatever while you dance, etc...

2. Xev Bellringer - from the show Lexx - the perfect sex-slave who will have nothing whatsoever to do with the captain (main character?).

3. No idea and not in, but I gotta say: it looks like you're having a blast at your shows!
Dr. Girlfriend accompanied by Tim Tom and Kevin, The Murderous Moppets

or the later incarnation:

Dr. Mrs. The Monarch accompanied by Tim Tom and Kevin, The Pupae Twins

can you get a couple of very short fellas to join the routine?
