Hi all,

I couldn't find a forum for Riven : The Sequel to Myst, so I hope I can ask this question here.

I own a 1440 x 900 monitor. When playing Riven, the resolution switches to 640x480. This 'stretches' the game and makes everything 'short and fat'. I turned of the 640x480 resolution in the Riven menu en turned of the 640x480 resolution in the properties menu. Still, when I start the game it switches to 640x480. If I then check the properties, the 640x480 option is turned on again.

Am I doing something wrong?

Thanks in advace!

Edit : Just discovered the 'Myst Series' forum. Urgh, sorry about posting in the wrong section. :(

The forum you were looking for is here.

To answer your question: I haven't played Riven in a while, but to my knowledge the game only supports 640x480 because that's the resolution that the videos and images were made in. If you want to correct the aspect ratio and you're connected via a DVI connector, you can probably do this from your graphics card control panel (I know you can do it from Catalyst on ATI cards and you can probably do it from Forceware as well). Failing that, some monitors have a 4:3 aspect ratio switch.

By the way: Welcome to GOG!

Thank you for your message.

I was able to lock the aspect ratio in my Nvidia CP.

Thanks for helping.
