justanoldgamer: RIP
chevkoch: Just saw this interview from 2009, when Motherboard visited Baer at his home:
Meet Ralph Baer, the Father of Video Games justanoldgamer: Thanks for linking to that. It might inspire me to clean up my electronic bench and go back to that hobby. It always annoys me when I see builts on electronic site that use some kind of microprocessor when we did them with a few transistors and maybe a 555 chip. Not that microprocessor don't have their uses but today's electronic experimenters seem to be unable to do anything without them.
You are welcome. I too found it contagious, seeing Baer moving about in his workshop with the air of the electronic artisan that he clearly was. It makes you want to build things, makes me long for a slower environment and mindset in crafting, anything.
