For all you hoary oldsters who remember Lords of Midnight and Doomdarks Revenge for the goods old Speccy, sad news indeed....

That is very sad indeed. Condolences to his family and friends.

In a market where several old franchises are getting traction again, and many industry veterans are returning, Mike Singleton could have been among those; at 61 he certainly wouldn't have been too old. But it seems that his health has been faltering for a while. At least he doesn't have to suffer any more.
The guy who made Starlord is dead? :(
Sad. Lords of Midnight was my favourite Speccy game, and I was still holding out hope for Eye of the Moon to be released :(

Not sure where this leaves the iOS version: http://www.icemark.com/blog/

There's never been another game like LoM/DDR - I don't think I've seen another first person turn-based strategy game.

RIP Mike.
Play in peace Mr Singleton.
This is sad news indeed. Lords of Midnight and Doomdark's Revenge had a profound effect on me, and for years I waited for Eye of the Moon to arrive, but sadly it never did. Rarely did anyone fit so much gameplay into so little memory (48 KB!).

In a rather odd twist, the UK Sun newspaper has picked this up, revealing that British ex-MP Louise Mensch was a fan of Lords of Midnight:
