Hey GOG!
I just decided to post this as a little tip for those of you guys, who like to download their games directly in their browsers into non-default folders (just as I do).
As you might remember, before site redesign you could right-click the direct download link on "My shelf" and get the normal "Save object as..." command and window. Now as you might have noticed after the site redesign some things have changed.
When you left-click the game-icon on "My shelf" what you get now is a huge panel with all download options instead of the small "Downloads" window the way it used to be. However, this panel disappears after you right-click on it. While it is a neat feature what does one do with "Save as..."? Well, it appears the option is still there.
It is a bit confusin but all you ahve have to do is this:
- left-click on game icon and choose the direct link you want to download from (just like before);
- right-click on it (just like before);
- the panel will close but your right-mouse-button menu will still pop-up the way it should;
- if you choose the "Save as..." function from that menu you still get the good old "choose a folder and save" dialog the way it used to be with exactly the file you wanted to download!
So do not let the appearing and disappearing panel confuse you - download just as you did before. I just checked it several times and it seems to work flawlessly (although all this appearing-disappearing is still a bit confusing).
