Well, when it's on sale, it goes for ~2 quid or so, meaning that everyone with at least a smidgeon of self-recocking-spect should buy it.
Not sure how you can hoard keys though.

edit: just checked in my e-mail, Quake 2007 Collection cost me 4.24 pounds during the sale (in July).

That being said, I challenge anyone (European) on this forum to some aim_map in CS 1.6!
I'm not as good as I used to be, but I'm sure that I can still put up a fight ;)

I wish I was still good enough to accept said challenge. It has been far too long since I was any good at CS, or Quake 3 for that matter.

Now, UT is a game that, depending on my form, I can beat Vagabond at, Quake 3? I die, lots.

michaelleung: VQ3 is vanilla Quake 3 - as in, the game that you play as soon as you've installed it. If memory serves, CPMA is specially designed for competitive play or something.

Oh wow I totally forgot about this. I used to play this, and Nexuiz and Alien Arena, albeit with bots.

I tried Warsow again with bots, and playing it alongside CPMA and even VQ3, I can't say I'm enjoying it much. The pacing of the game is great, but the weapons feel strange (even though they're mostly identical to Q3's arsenal) and the sounds are weak. I can see it as a fun racing game, but it just doesn't feel right as a deathmatch game. I can't place my finger on it. I don't feel that sense of satisfaction when I hit someone with the electrogun, compared to railing someone in q3dm17. Even OpenArena's guns feel more impactful (no disrespect to OA's developers).

Can a combination of the Q3A demo and the latest ioquake3 be used to play with people who own the game at least in the maps available with the demo ?

Hey I heard you could play Quake 3 on a web browser for free. Personally I would rather own it but throwing it out there for you guys. And at the moment i'm playing unreal tournament 2004 and I'm loving it but I do hope the Quake 3 community gets revived because that game is AWESOME!!
