The rating system works wonders it seems. Just great. It actually makes the Steam forums look good and that's just sad.

On topic, never been to Czech Republic but I hear Prague is a nice city to visit. So have fun there and make sure you visit some other stuff than just restaurants with cheese and fries :P

nondeplumage: Wasn't the AK-47 designed and made in the Czech Republic? I bet you could pick one of those up without any trouble going through customs.

v1989: No, it was in Russia.

And nice rule for everyone, who travel around the world:
If someone who you meet don't understand English, don't trying yell in the same language, because he still doesn't understand you and you will look like an idiot.
Usually they won't yell, they just start talking veeeery slooooowly with their own language, like that would help :)
I'm not in Prague, nor do I intend to be (damn that lack of money) but this guy is

http://logansvoyage.blogspot.com/

and he's given his own 'wacky' take on what's there. I've gamed (RPGs over Skype) with him for about 4 years and he's a good bloke if a little off kilter on his sense of appropriateness.
I still recommend reading his blog for Prague facts that aren't necessarily facts but do give a good an outsider's view of the city.

Floydinizer: i may be too late, but there is a Museum of medieval torture instruments in Prague, which i found interesting. They have a real Iron Maiden!
avatar
nondeplumage: I was under the impression these kinds of torture devices were mostly created as attraction pieces and weren't really used in ye olden days.
hmm, i may be wrong, the pamphlet i have doesn't mention anything about the authenticity.

In my defense, I usually speak very slowly in Polish that's so badly pronounced there's no telling what the heck I'm trying to say. So, bonus points for trying?

(Fortunately, there's usually somone around who speaks English and takes pity on me when iistening to hearing me try their language.)

You mean that all those 'szcz' are really hard to pronounce? ;)

I'm just saying that you might want to step out of the splash radius before I try speaking the Polish. :P
Jestem królem fotela !
Many thanks to everyone for all the advice! I just returned from my holiday and it was awesome! Prague is an amazing, very beautiful City! During my days I pretty much walked around the entire City and seen many very interesting things, I wish my town had a Tower where a Trupeteer Blows at the start of every hour :)

TheEnigmaticT: RIghto kids;

As GR noted, we're making use of one of our shiny new moderator features and have put a ban on his account from posting on the forums because he's ignored repeated warnings sent to his email address. The ban is currenlty good for a week, after which you'll have your privileges reinstated.

This, of course, does not prevent GR's alts from posting. We could ban them as well, but as long as the internet has free email addresses, someone can make alts on GOG. In general, alts don't matter. Using alts to continually provoke the mods and the users does matter, and I'd rather not see any more of it. I'm leery of banning an IP address because that can have effects on accounts outside the intended user, so please let's not escalate things to that level.

Shivvy/GameRager, Damuna; you kids don't get along. Don't harass each other, and this doesn't have to require any further moderator action.
Sorry to derail the thread again, but having just watched my own rep tumbling in the last half hour and wondering what was going on, it would appear GameRager is still determined to cause as much chaos as possible by using his alts to down-rep anyone who speaks out against him. You can see the results of his actions in the "low rated" posts by Navagon, Delixe, Damnation, Damuna and myself in this very thread. While I would fully expect to be down-repped for making posts unrelated to the topic, to drop 10 points in the space of half an hour is ridiculous.

You mentioned being leery about banning an IP address and requested the situation not to be escalated any further. Unfortunately, GameRager hasn't heeded this warning and is still proving a disruptive influence despite his temporary ban.

"Rep" by your definition is a way of showing how helpful a member has been to the community as a whole, but because of the actions by GameRager and his alts, this is now being ruined for everyone. Please do something to put a stop to this "rep war" before it turns your long-standing supporters away from this community.
