Hey just want to ask people how often you replay a game you've bought. Also, what games were they and how often you've replayed, including your experiences.
Personally I have so many games that I simply move on to another game once I've finished a game. I *want* to replay some games but also have lots of games unplayed.
Some games I want to replay (only played these once): Planescape Torment
Starcraft
Dark Messiah
Crusaders of Might and Magic
Thief
HL2
Diablo
I'm not even gonna bother listing games I haven't started/haven't finished, because I'll use up all the space the internet offers XD
Greetings CannibalBob! I believe I recognize you from the NWN boards...
Anyway, the games I've replayed include:
NWN1: played through the original 5 or 6 times.
SoU (NWN1 expansion 1, for those who don't know): played through 3 times.
HotU( 2nd NWN1 expansion): played through twice.
NWN2: Played through 3 times.
MotB (NWN2 expansion): played through twice.
Baldur's Gate1 (including expansions): Honestly don't know how many times. More than 10.
Baldur's Gate 2 (including expansion): at least 5 times.
Icewind Dale (inclduing expansion): at least 5 times
Icewind Dale 2: twice
The Witcher: Twice and working on a third time.
Sins of a Solar Empire: many times (not sure how to count this, as it's an RTS 4x game with no actual story)
Currently, I have numerous other games that I'm playing through for the first time and also have a bit of a backlog of games that I've not played yet. I'll be picking up Fallout 3 tomorrow, so that will likely put a hold on some of the ones I'm currently playing. Then there's Storm of Zehir in November...
I am having a hard time keeping up with the new games that gets released so not that often I get to replay a game.
starcraft + broodwar
diablo 2
Fallout 1 (can't get into 2 that much, really hate the opening because I was lucky enough to have my explosion DO NOTHING while right next to the vault. that is luck my friends).
Dance Dance Revolution Extreme, Konamix, etc.
Guitar Hero
Final Fantasy 9
Pokemon Red
Final Fantasy 6
Final Fantasy 5
Super Mario World
Star Wars: Knights of The Old Republic
Stubbs the Zombie
Sonic The Hedghog 2
Double Dragon (Arcade, Via Xbox Live.. I do not recommend this game).
Tetris Attack!
Half-Life 2
More later..

HELL YEAH...
I have a tendency to replay some games, not finish others. Right now I'm stuck in a cycle of stopping the campaign early on in Europa Universalis III when my country destabilizes (don't ask how bad, you don't wanna know). The worst offender for replaying though is S.T.A.L.K.E.R., both SHOC and CS. In case anyone is wondering, yes I like the AMK mod for SHOC, and right now I'm waiting on a good mod for CS.
I try to replay every game that I enjoy.
Shining Force 2, on the Mega Drive, I must of played about a gazillion times in my youth.
Various cRPGs on the PC that are already listed by others. Yes, the ones that always get listed in lists they are.
Solitaire & Freecell, because lets face it. We all have that 2 minutes to kill before random task #0015 begins.
Not so much replaying nowadays, more going back to those I missed or stumbled with on round one.
Fallout 1&2 - well around 18 times
Final Fantasy VII & VIII - no comments needed
Half-Life - 4 times, still best shooter around there
Splinter Cell: Chaos Theory - 6 times, loving it, Sam Fisher is just fantastic ;]
Replaying, eh? Off the top of my head:
Unreal - at least once every two or three months for some eight years now. Definitely my favourite FPS ever.
Wizardry 8 - schedule is a bit random, especially every three or four hours I'm very tempted to make another run with a different party.
Gothic 2 - currently about 9-10 replays total.
Freespace 2
Prince of Persia: Sands of time - must be some seven replays by now. A prefect, relaxing game for boring weekends.
There aren't too many games that I have replayed but there are a few:
Uplink
Morrowind
Fallout 1 & 2
Going to be working on a replay of Planescape: Torment. It's been long enough since I first finished it so I think it will seem fresh again :-).
Speaking of Torment, how come we can't get anymore games in that particular setting?? So bloody bored to flatlining of elves and dwarves.

Oh I can sooo relate to that, finished tha game about 8-9 times, been loving it since '99 :P. To be hones, no other FPS has ever had the same feeling for me as Unreal did and does. The music contributes to this heavily.

Because originality is not exactly what the industry is aiming for right now, and even more so, people tend to stay away from a universe used by a game with low sales. And well, because sadly it is mostly forgotten. "Planescape? uh... what?"

I have almost all music modules converted to mp3-s and playing regularly :). Dig, Chizra, Wargate, SETI...
Oy, and before I stray too far: I'm often replaying ADOM as well. However, it's freeware, and I've actually *completed* it only twice :). Doesn't stop it from being fun :)
Not sure I've ever replayed a game... heck, most gamers tend to have a pile of games lying around, unstarted or unfinished.
I've never understood why "replayability" is factored into game reviews... i'd much rather have a great game that i can play for 6-10 hours than one that i have to play again and again.
I guess I probably replayed Jedi Knight (at least from the light/dark choice), and I've probably played Doom2 more than once. Oh, and KotOR from the Dark/Light choice too.
(but is replaying from a branching point really replaying? I'd say no)
There are some awesome games i've played, but i don't have the time or inclination to replay most of them. Infact far too many are a chore to finish even once. I wish they'd shorten down some of the games so those of us with jobs have a chance to finish them.
Portal was perfect.
I usually replay my games every couple of years or at least I try to.
