It started first as multiplayer mod for unreal, moved to standalone project

Actually, according to all the updates they've released over the years, Black Dawn is a singleplayer teaser to the full multiplayer experience. They mainly built it to whet the appetites of their fans and give themselves experience in UDK.

Just played through it. It's kind of short (as they said), has some bugs (not unexpected), but it's really pretty and I'd like more of it. I used to play the multiplayer UT3 mod until my UT3 bugged out, and now I'm waiting for the standalone multiplayer release :p
