A legendary RPG classic of mind-blowing proportions.

Wizardry 6+7, a pack of two DOS-era RPG games with first-person perspective, grid-based movement, huge gameworlds, and way over 500 hours of hard-core gameplay in total, is available on GOG.com, for only $5.99.

Some say that a quill is more powerful than the sword. In most cases they can be proved wrong by a any hot-tempered, half-naked barbarian wielding a crude two-handed blade. In this case, however, we're talking about a quill that is the most powerful artifact in the whole universe. It's called The Cosmic Forge, for it has the ability to rewrite reality itself, making its wielder omnipotent. This is what's at stake, at this is what you'll be after. But as if laying your hands on this treasure wasn't difficult enough, there's an ominous force hiding in the shadows, trying to reach the goal before you do and turning the whole of the world against you. All this is but the main thread in the epic campaign bringing together fantasy and Sci-Fi in a world that could have only be spawned to existence in the early 1990s. Behold the first two games in the Dark Savant trilogy!

Wizardry 6+7 bundles together Wizardry 6: The Cosmic Forge and Wizardry 7: Crusaders of the Dark Savant to bring you over 500 hours of challenging gameplay that defined what we now call classic computer RPG. Once you create your party of brave adventurers, recruited among the most fantastic races and taking on some of the most awesome professions, prepare to spend a whole lot of time with them, as you'll be taking them from the first game in the trilogy up to the last one. This is a challenging game, the one the RPG codex might have warned you about, so prepare for something you have never experienced before--or, if you played it back in the day, to relive some of your best gaming memories. With tons of content and old-school goodness it's a piece of gaming history you just need to have in your collection.

Are you ready? If you think you can handle a game so huge, or you simply want to forget about the world for weeks, or even months, grab Wizardry 6+7 for only $5.99.

Oh, and by the way: Wizardry 7: Crusaders of the Dark Savant comes in two versions in this package: the original DOS release, and the revamped Windows Wizardry GOLD edition. The choice is yours!

JudasIscariot: I wonder if phanboyIV permitted Pookins to go out on her own or did she escape? :D
I forced him to let me use her name.

Bloodygoodgames: I'm usually one of those people who's very strict about what I think GOG should do and not do :) But......honestly, advertising in an installer wouldn't bother me at all.

After all, it's a way for GOG to make money and stay solvent, which benefits all of us and, when I'm installing the game usually all I see are ads for GOG games anyway. Would be nice to see ads for something new for a change :)
Please don't get me wrong. While I'll admit it is a change of character for GOG from what we're used to, nevertheless, I agree that for someone who owns a significant part of the GOG library (like myself), seeing some outside advertisements may actually be a good thing. Perhaps my sarcasm didn't come through as clearly as I would have wanted.

No, don't worry, I wasn't criticizing you or what you said -- I was just making a general comment :)

Romiras: 700 hours of gameplay... Maybe when I will retire. Great release though!
LOL, yep, that's why I'm not buying them. I'm staying away from RPGs for a while as I still have about 10 in my backlog that I haven't finished. Won't be buying any more until that list is down a bit as it's actually freaking me out how many games I now own and don't have time to play :)

Vagabond: Wiz Gold works flawlessly. GOG did some pretty amazing fixes when I was testing it.
Wow. Will post your response in relevant thread in Wiz game forum.

BTW, anyone: what does it mean by "soundtrack" - did both 6 and 7 have music, or is it just one of them? I think GOG should specify.

This seems like some "before-my-time" s#!t, although I do recognize Gdfdsds from That One Thread (r).

Crosmando: Hmmm, so can any of the Blues at least confirm or deny (if they're at liberty to say) if the reason Wizardry 1-5 aren't here is because of legal issues relating to Andrew Greenberg?
Won't ever happen, GOG has not and I doubt will ever comment on such things. If they do it's usually the ever vague "Because reasons"

Wizardry 7 has music, 6 just has sound effects.

Finished 6 but never finished 7. Time to change that now :). Thank you GOG - Please bring more of those Old-School-Rpgs! (How about the Gold Box Games by SSI?)

Gracias for information.

Oh, and if a blue sees this, it looks like a few people are having issues with Wiz Gold and 8 in the game-specific forum.

Ghildrean: The installer includes an advertising about Wizardry Online. Wizardry Online on GOG or just advertising from the IP holders?
avatar
G-Doc: Even though Wizardry Online looks awesome and we're happy to advertise, GOG.com does not offer MMO. It's only an installer ad.
Question that you might not be able/allowed to answer. Does gog have an exclusivity period to sell Wizardry 6-8 in like as in BG and SS2 when they were released?

no problem. I was glad that my vast amounts of useless information came in handy
Fantastic, best gaming news since I got wind there's a Torment sequel in the works :)

Already bought and installed. Just two questions though for the GOG team:

- There isn't a Crusaders of the Dark Savant manual, just the Wizardry Gold one. Couldn't you find a copy? Or is the Gold manual just the same/expanded version of the original one?

- What's the soundtrack from? It obviously isn't the original music from the game. Also, the attached cover says "Wizardry 6 + 7" but there are only mp3 files for Wizardry 6 music.

Thanks!

I think they have exclusivity for Wizardry. No one else is selling it yet, and even if Steam sold it, their discussion board would likely end up the same as SS2, with indignation that Steam would charge money for 'ugly, old abandonware' and such. Then again, Steam users Greenlit Dragon's Lair while GOG rejected that game for now.

LAWDY LAWDY!!!

GOG again proves why they are #1!!!

In my book anyway... if you do not agree..

*goes into Ahnold voice*

To hell witchoo!
Now that 6, 7 and 8 are out we just need the other 5 and we will all be happy campers~
Great release, never played this series but is my wishlist (need to empty my backlog a bit first). And what about the first 5 ones, GOG?:
Very impressive GOG! I didn't expect we'd ever see these. :D
