The war of twelve races.

Warlords Battlecry II, a classic RTS game telling the story of an epic struggle between the races of the fantastic world of Etheria, is now available on GOG.com for only $5.99.

Etheria is still at war. The twelve races have been locked in a struggle for centuries and it seems that they will never know peace. They hunger for power and dominion over the land. Some use brutal force and numbers. Others use magic and cunning or even battlefield technology. Each faction has its own strengths and weaknesses, all of which have become well know to the other over the centuries of conflicts. All of them have gathered an unfathomable military power. There's just one thing that seems unachievable: a lasting victory. Are you a leader capable enough to change that?

Warlords Battlecry II delivers a solid RTS experience that any strategy fan is bound to appreciate. With twelve distinct factions to choose from, a hundred and forty units you can control, and sixty seven regions to conquer, this game will keep you busy for many hours. There are even some RPG elements here, as the hero whose role you assume can complete various optional quest, and the units under your command gather experience and level up. If the main campaign is still not enough for you, check out the skirmish mode that delivers endless challenge, or even create your own scenarios in the provided map editor.

Are you craving for classic RTS action in a gritty fantasy setting? Pick up your copy of Warlords Battlecry II, for only $5.99.

Alfie3000: Also, we need Settlers 1 and 6 too.
More critically, we need Settlers 7. DRM-free.
And Settlers 2 anniversary.

Is it actually good? I admit I've never tried it, I just wonder... why fix something which is not broken? Yeah, I know, perhaps it's because I'm an nostalgic geezer but I love how Settlers 2 looks and I'm afraid that porting it into 3D kills its soul.

I don't know. I'd like to find out, though :P If the only major difference between S2 and S2:10th anniversary is the graphics, I'd like to buy it, for like 9.99 with expansion. Preferably 5.99 :P

Let's start from the beginning, GOG needs to get Serf City and find out how to enable the second mouse for the splitscreen play.

Ubivis: I do prefer the original turn based warlords series... too bad, that Warlords 3 is quite hard to get running on a modern system.
It's not a solution to the problem (merely a workaround), but VirtualBox with a WinXP guest OS does wonders - Warlords 3 (patched to 1.01, UK version) runs beautifully.

Alfie3000: WHY DON'T WE HAVE THE SETTLERS 3&4 YET???? COME ON GOG!!!!

Listen to these men, for they utter the truth.

So, having already owned WBC3, but never having played this one, Why should I play this one, when compared to the 3rd?

Better gameplay, More intuitive? Or would I get it mainly to own the whole series?

I mean, Heroes of Might and Magic 2 is my favorite of that series, even more so than 3, which many consider to be the best of the series, but that is because of the gameplay, music and characters that I grew up with. The nostalgia.

What makes this game worth my money?

S7 here would be good, I can't even buy the damn game on steam if I wanted to as it's got no price listed so I assume it's not available in Belgium for some weird reason.
I'll add my vote for S3 too as I loved that game and still have a boxed copy of it.

Expansions better be included too :p
Love the campaign mode. Not scripted, very replayable.
Very happy it made it to GOG, sure buy for me.
Insta-wishlist, as I'm currently broke. But great game, glad to see it here :D
Nice addition to the catalog, Thanks GOG
Any major differences between this and 3? (which I love and still play a lot)
