The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky, a traditional jRPG masterpiece with 50+ hours of breathtaking storytelling is available 15% off on GOG.com. That's $16.99 for the first week!

The Orbal Revolution changed the Kingdom of Liberl. Innovations created with the use of the mystical "orbal energy" advanced the civilization by centuries in just 50 years. Now gleaming airships take to the skies, the night is lit with orbal-powered lanterns, and communication is easier than ever with telephones. However, breakneck pace of change brings many risks. With the emergence of high-powered guns and potent magic the kingdom has become a powder keg. This is where the Bracer Guild steps in, an efficient and esteemed force acting as police and negotiators. And here is where your story begins…

The first proper JRPG in GOG.com's catalog is a true gem, a title acclaimed for its novel-like multi-faceted characters, drama-packed story, and detailed lore. Follow Estelle and Joshua, children of the greatest hero of a bygone era, on a quest to find their father and uncover a plot threatening to destabilize an already volatile world. The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky is a rare game that creates a vast fantasy world and populates it with monsters and men you will care about. The game adds an original twist to the turn-based combat system, features highly customisable gear, and tops it all off with surprising accessibility even for genre-newbies.

Discover the secrets and dangers of Zemuria with your band of vagabonds in The Legend of Heroes: Trails in the Sky 15% off for the first week. That's $16.99 until Tuesday, August 5, at 3:59PM GMT.

Niggles: Id personally hold on. Are we pushing customers to Humble now?
People talk all the time about the current Humble Bundles and offers in the Humble Store in these forums. Nobody is "pushing" anyone. I still hope that GOG/Xseed is going to release the Ys series rather sooner than later on GOG. Can't wait to get them all DRM-free. :)

JohnnyThrowback: Hey, I'm wondering, what is better, this game or YS Origin? I'm curious because I want one of those games but I'm undecided.

Also, is there any chance for the YS series and Agarest Generations of War to come to GOG? Specially YS Origin.

mrcrispy83: you can get ys origin in the humble bundle this week:
https://www.humblebundle.com/weekly

personally I'd go with ys since I dislike the legend of heroes series.

LOL. So wait then .
If others want to buy the games at HIB "now" because it's not available at GOG, that's their prerogative.

I personally will Double Dipping at MKH, Astebreed, and Ys Origin as I need DRM free backup.
GOG's always late to the party than HIB, It's their loss not mine.

I doubt that will be soon cause GOG have a habit rejected a "niche" games without clear explanation.

I rather have some selection process like greenlight here than some digital store choose what game I can buy or not.

So u want GOG to become something like Greenlight and allow the flood of clones into the store? (you know what im talking about....plenty of shite games get through greenlight).

Yeah. But "something like" is not absolute. Greenlight itself have a lot of weakness, I agreed about a lot of bad games pass Greenlight though.

A least I sure HIB and Gamersgate have a better selection process than GOG for DRM free games.

Neither GamersGate, nor Humble can guarantee a DRM-Free release. Many games like Hotline Miami, Shadow Warrior, Teslagrad which are DRM-Free here are not DRM-Free on GamersGate (in fact, many of their latest releases are nothing more than Steam keys). Even Humble is far from perfect, since the whole Nordic catalog is sold there only as Steam keys.

Agreed, at least for newer games humble is better IMHO as for GamersGate, I like it for vast selection of "niche" good quality DRM free games like Alpha Polaris, Academagia, Last Half of Darkness - Society of the Serpent Moon, Rainblood Town of Death etc.

I didn't say it is a bad place for DRM-Free games (Sacred 2 Gold, ftw). It's just that lately, they've been having fewer and fewer DRM-Free games (I was surprised that Trails in the Sky is actually DRM-Free there).
Has XSEED issued a release date for the second part of the game?

auroraparadox: Has XSEED issued a release date for the second part of the game?
according to a post they made in the game's steam community group

Short answer: Soon.

Long answer: XSEED is working on it now. It is expected to show up on Steam and PSN at the end of 2014, possibly early 2015. It's too early to be able to give a date now.

Bonus Question: What about 3rd??

Let's not jump the gun yet. Let's see how SC does first, then maybe XSEED will work on 3rd. :D
Please guys, don't start panicking and them not mentioning GOG in that.

Thank you for summarizing where things stand. +1

Thanks! I think I'm near the end of the game now. Will my savegame carry over or do I need to do a NewGame+ for a carryover?

Here's to them releasing more stuff here.

I do believe that you can carry over your regular save
I have just completed two times the game.
Argllll the ending...
I want the second chapter... NOW. Now I said! >:(

Hopefully at least one Ys game will appear on gog before the end of september, and most of all, Second Chapter will be release the same day than Steam like First Chapter, and before the end of the year!

But I understand that both Falcom and XSEED are actually pretty busy these days.

Though can't wait... :(
