Home is where the iridium power plant is.

Space Colony HD, the high-definition version of the futuristic cross between real-time strategy and real-space-life simulation, is available now on GOG.com, for only $7.99! That's 20% off the regular price for one week.

Space Colony HD lets you build and manage a high-tech habitat to colonize an alien world. The range of facilities you can construct is impressive and the number of factors you need to keep track of will make this game a real challenge. But what's most interesting is that every single one of the colonist that inhabit your base has an elaborate personality. Some tend to cause trouble while other's are the grease that keep the gears of your colony go smoothly.

Check out for yourself what the makers of Stronghold Crusader HD cooked up for you up there, in the new frontier. Now you can experience it all in high definition! The nice guys from FireFly Studios have even prepared a short video explaining what's special about the game.

Join the colonists and contribute to what might be the beginning of the galactic human supremacy in Space Colony HD, for only $7.99 until Thursday, November 15, at 10:59AM GMT.
Those screenshots sure look nice and HD crisp.

Roman5: Can a GOG Staff member please confirm: Are there going to be any other releases this week?
That's it for this week.

That's good news, I don't think my wallet could take any more abuse.

I am quite pleased with GOG organizing a community contest and adding extra goodies to games, among other things but....

I must admit that I'm somewhat dissapointed in the performace of only 2 releases this week

Three releases.
This was a pretty neat game. I can't remember so much from it, but I did like it. Interesting with the HD bit too. Might have to check it out at some point.
Game seems attractive even for not a fan of Sims, like me.

But I must confess I appreciated more the way Firefly dev pronounced GOG.com, as it should always be, as a word.

GEE-OH-GEE-dot-com has such a bad ring to it (especially the way TET says it, I'm sorry to say). Like a fingernails on chalkboard thing, a cacophony of sorts.
Besides should someone be consistent, shouldn't go all the way: GEE-OH-GEE-dot-CEE-OH-EM? :P

I might buy the game just for that. :)
Of course, in french, the pronounciation "gog" is a slang for toilet. But yeah, that's also what the word sounds like in my head. Jehogee just sounds forced.

As for the game, I had voted for it, so, that's one more victory for my wishlist (I'm locked in some sort of armwrestling with it, trying to bring it down to zero while it grows). I hate sims, but I love base-building games, from Startopia to Evil Genius, which includes the pleasure to add modules in space strategy games (Millenium 2.2, etc). I knew this game only from screnshots, but the scale and style makes it an unavoidable buy, sooner or later.
This is a pretty good release. Don't think it justifies the price tag though, defintely should be 5.99.

"com" is an abbreviation, not an acronym, short for "commercial". Now, if it stood for "Carbonated Oily Marshmallows" I would agree with you.
Never heard of this one, looks fun though. added to the Wishlist for sure

But GOG doesn't stand for Good Old Games anymore, it's not an acronym. It's a name.

Or they should actually change their logo to Jehogee, as Telika suggests.

gandalf.nho: Looks interesting. Is a difficult game?
Maybe the last 15 % of the game are tough. But most of the missions are very relaxing.

Yes, a name that was an acronym. That doesn't change the pronunciation when the former meaning of the acronym is removed.

That said, when speaking about the site, I've always said "Gog dot com" (or rather "Gog punkt kom", as my first language isn't English).

Although, I'm quite sure they have an opinion similar to Mr. Torvalds' "I don't care how you pronounce it as long as you use it".
