Beware the eagle!

Shelter, a unique exploration and survival game that lets you experience the wonders and hardships of an animal life in a beautiful surrounding of the colorful virtual forest, is available 10% off on GOG.com. That's only $8.99 for the first week!

For many of us, the most appealing part of gaming is the ability to see the world from a different perspective, and experience a life much different from our own. For the most part, games take us to different universes to achieve that. When you think about it, though, there's a whole different world neighboring the realm of humans: the animal kingdom. To us, each forest is an undiscovered land that we'll never be able to explore and understand in full. To do that, one would have to be able to look at it through the eyes of an animal. Breathe in all the fascinating scents, follow all of its hidden paths, feel the moist dirt beneath your clawed paws--experience the life of a forest critter. Not many games explore this fascinating setting. This one does, and it does it beautifully!

Shelter lets you roam the wild as a mother badger, taking care of her jaunty little cubs. The wild is beautiful and bountiful, but don't take Mother Nature's generosity for granted, and don't feel too confident. You'll need to explore your surroundings in search of water, food, and safe haven, while constantly keeping an eye out for the lurking predators. Danger waits at every step, especially for your furry children. Hunger, cold, and death--that's what the fate has in store for them, if you don't tend to them properly. Terrifying as it may sound, the game's beautiful graphics and meditative soundtrack by Retro Family will grant you many moments of awe and relaxed bliss.

Into the wild, friends! If you like unique gaming experiences, get Shelter for only $8.99 on GOG.com. The release 10% discount offer lasts until Wednesday, September 4, at 9:59AM GMT.

Ghorpm: I don't believe it! I was fast enough to grab it and usually I'm terribly slow. Thanks!

I'll post something in exchange (It's Defender's Quest)

But I've changed two segments and written them backwards. Have fun figuring out which ones ;)

no worries :) sadly, some of us need to work from time to time, so checking the forum every 5 seconds isn't an option ;)

Looks beautiful, but will probably wishlist it for now in the hopes of a better promotional price. Just too many games already. I applaud the designers for trying something unique though!
Not my pint of cola, but there's also a deal on the developers site for Pid+Shelter for $15 here.
No idea if that's a good price for those games, but you do get them DRM-free and on Steam.
WOW! That was fast. I put it on the GOG wishlist just a few days ago - and here it is....and I'm broke :(
Well, I'm sure it'll stay for a while in the shelves and wait for me.
Whishlisted again.

Merchito: Looks very appealing! Definitely interesting, would love to play this game.
But... one question: do your cubs die when you fail to protect them? I'm too sensitive to bear that if it's the case in the game.
Yes they do, it is a big part of the game. Have a look at this hands on from Rock Paper Shotgun to get a good idea what the game will be like:

I kind of feel the same bu tI don't think it will stop me from playing it as it looks too original and interesting to resist.

No impulse control when it comes to GOG - bought it.
Ha! I was jonesing for Wolf the other day, and here comes another unique critter simulator. I'll likely be picking this one up.
Finally.
A game where a man can play as a momma badger.
This looks SO COOL!
Hm, I read the RPS review and I'm pretty sure now I'd be a nervous wreck ;__;. The eagle in the trailer was already very ominous.
Oooh, hallo.

Didn't even know it was being released anytime soon.

Looks fascinating.
Release on Wednesday?! Madness!
I've never heard of this game before... to anyone who has, do you recommend it?
