Seeing double.
Seeing double.

Fractured Soul, a classics-inspired action platformer challenging you to play simultaneously across two realities for an enthralling arcade experience, is available 10% off on GOG.com. That's only $8.99 for the first week.

Fractured Soul puts you in control of the entity--one soul stretched across two dimensions, each of them quite similar, but not the same. Double the information input, double the effort to process it, double the fun from overcoming the challenges. Your character is able to shift between two worlds in an instant, but it's up to you to take in what's happening in both of them at any given time, to make sure your use of that ability leads to optimal results. Hardcore bonus challenge levels are unlocked through 5 star performances in the main game. You can also take on the challenge of Fractured Soul with a friend, in local co-op mode. The game comes bundled with a full soundtrack, both in MP3 and FLAC format.

Give your brain an exercise in multi-tasking with the devious arcade mindgame that is Fractured Soul, for only $8.99 on GOG.com. The 10% off special release discount offer lasts until Tuesday, March 4, at 10:59AM GMT.

RawSteelUT: I bought the game, and I can tell you the screen crunch is killing this version for me.

Compare to the 3DS original.

It's just a lot easier to get caught by surprise due to the lack of vertical screen real estate.

CrowTRobo: Thank you, that helped my decision. I will eventually be getting a 3DS and I was wondering which version of this I should get. I didn't think of the two screens vs one. I'll wait to get it on the 3DS.
Only reason I didn't get it on 3DS is that Nintendo systems have the WORST DRM ever. Bound to system instead of account. Meaning if your handheld gets lost or stolen, you're SOL.

Shame too, I'd have gotten it there if not for that.

I was thinking it was an actual cart, didn't realize it was a downloadable game. Didn't know about how digital purchases work either. That sucks, especially since the reason I do not have a DS anymore is because it was stolen.

Yeah, that's the thing with Nintendo digital. Physical system gets stolen while you're out and about, you lose the system and a game. Digital-only system gets stolen, you lose the whole fucking thing. While DRM in general sucks, Nintendo has perhaps the worst of the non-malware versions, given how inflexible it is.
