Point at the odd and click on the mad!

Edna & Harvey, a crazy cartoony point-and-click adventure spanning over two games: The Breakout and Harvey’s New Eyes, is now available on GOG.com for only $17.99--that's 10% off until Tuesday, October 23 at 10:59 AM GMT.

Hi. I said: "hi". Why are you looking around? I'm right here! Yes, the little blue stuffed bunny. You know--your best friend in the world? Well, actually: your only friend in the world. Still doesn't ring a bell, huh? They must've pumped you with all sorts of meds. Poor thing. Why would they lock you up like that? You don't do that to a helpless girl. Don't worry, love. We'll get you outta here in no time. Just trust me. What? You think I'm just a figment of your imagination? No problem, trust yourself, then--and let's get moving. Those padded walls give me the creeps. Why? It's because of what they have inside them. It's a stuffed animal thing, you wouldn't understand. So, can we go now? Your past awaits! Or is it the future? I always get these two confused.

From the creators of Deponia comes Edna & Harvey, a game--pardon me: two games--that earned the Daedalic Entertainemnt a place in point-and-click adventure hall of fame. Both Breakout and Harvey's New Eyes feature minimalistic, yet colorful cartoony graphics, insane storylines, thousands of lines of dialog, and immeasurable amounts of grotesque humor. Gameplay-wise, both games stick to the time-tested point-and-click mechanics with rudimentary commands that let you interact with items, people, and blue stuffed animals. But don't be fooled by their seeming simplicity--it will take you hours to get through each of them.

Dare to stare into the glare of blue bunny's crazy eyes and help two disturbed minds through a rough ride towards destiny in Edna & Harvey, for only $17.99!
Great release, thanks.

Mytan: Great releases! Was hoping these two were finding their way over here to gog.com and with included german language it's an instant-buy for me. Thank you, gog! :) Now we just need to get the new "Chaos on Deponia" here aswell ;)

johkra: You mean http://www.gog.com/en/gamecard/deponia ?
As JMich already pointed out, I was talking about the sequel to "Deponia" which has been released here in Germany already and is to be released on November 6th internationally.

Daedalic really brought back my love for adventure games!

As for the Edna & Harvey games I was sceptical too at first but Daedalic offers demo versions of the games on their website and after trying them out I got hooked up. They may seem a bit weird at a first glance but the humor is great and in my opinion no adventure-fan should miss out here.

Sadly I think they didn't do any demos in english but if you know the german language I can only recommend to go, try the demos out and see for yourself ;)

Austrobogulator: The graphics in the screenshots are just placeholder art, right? Right? =/
I like the art style of the game. Unfortunately I don't like adventure games, so it's a no buy for me.

Crosmando: So GOG only releases one game on Tues/Thurs now? :(
Actually there's 2 games bundled as one ;)

Roman5: Not familiar with this game The screenshots do not look very appealing to me however I see a lot of people talking good things about it, what's so great about this game?
Its the humor, the dialogue, the characters and the classic adventure gameplay. You can click on anything and get the weirdest responses from Edna. Sometimes its more fun to just make something stupid rather than trying to solve the game.

But i dont know how much is lost in the translation. Edna features a very dry and dadaistic humor mixed with typical hanseatic characteristics you can experience while talking to people from Hamburg, Germany's Pearl of the North. Edna & Harvey are very unique games. Either you are hooked for the rest of your life or you just shrug with your shoulder.
German language is included? Yay, bought!

Harzzach: Either you are hooked for the rest of your life or you just shrug with your shoulder.
Third option: you're hooked, but the scripting bugs get you completely stuck and leave you terrified of any experiments with silly item interactions.

MasodikTiasma: languages: English, German!! Thank you, GOG. :-) Wishlisted.

SimonG: *Looking at country* Never thought I hear that from a Frenchman ;-)
Maybe he's from Elsass.... Or he wants to practice German language.... Btw: I saw young Asian girl (Vietnamese) in Australia who could speak Polish language perfectly.... The world is just a global village now... literally...

MasodikTiasma: As a Frenchman, isn't it obvious I'd be an intellectual snob, a stickler for original version? ;-) I really hate dubbing, it can ruin a game or a film completely for me. Can you imagine this in dubbing: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A8yjNbcKkNY
Thanks for the link... I've seen it so many times, but it makes me laugh so much every time I see it... And the expression "I fart in your general direction" makes my cry....

YES!!! Harvey's New Eyes is an instant purchase for me (that'll be my third copy of The Breakout, by the way - already bought it twice!).

Two great Daedalic Adventures including the original German language? Great! Instabuy!
Wow, that's some good news. I wanted to try that game for quite some time now.
Thanks, GOG!
Nice release, GOG. And thank you for including the German version.

grviper: Less so, if you've already picked up The Breakout at GG. Then you can't even gift the extra in the batch.

DukeNukemForever: True, two separate releases for 10$ each would be better then, also for everyone who is kindly interested in the series or genre it would be easier to give it a shot. Would be interesting to know why they bundled them.
The Breakout and Harvey's New Eyes are pricey by themselves. The latter is released today. I'm guessing this is the exclusive deal GOG negotiated that allows GOG customers to grab both games at a substantial discount and NOT undercut the price of Harvey's New Eyes at the same time.

In comparison to gamersgate regular prices (20€ each for me) that's also true ;-) Personally I'm really happy with this deal, especially I can get the german versions for both games now digitally.
nice, but where all the oldies are gone , pre-2002 ones. we had like 2 this month so far, last month was okay albeit full of strategy games. just checked october 2011 had like 8 oldies much more varied then what was released in September this year.

the same goes for august got like 10 oldies in 2011 and almost non in 2012. we got promised a bunch of the best of the oldies but it seems to be much less than it used too. any reason for replacing the oldie releases with new ones?.
