Magmarock: So I live in Australia and even if I set that in the settings gog believes I'm in the US thus I escape the regional pricing nonsense, Wish I knew how though.
korell: When The Witcher 2 was released, GOG encouraged users from Australia and other regions affected by the censorship to change their country assigned to their user account to get around it. They argued that GeoIP is not always accurate so they weren't using it, and taking country from the user account instead.
I guess regional pricing now means that GOG will use GeoIP after all.
They were forced to Introduce GeoIP fore regional pricing soon after The Witcher 2 was released, they lost a court case with the retail publisher (Atari, was it?).
Magmarock: I had to use a proxy to see the difference and either they're not using GeoIP or that somehow GeoIP think I'm in the usa
Consider youself lucky.
