KneeTheCap: I wonder when they're gonna make laptops more easier to clean up? My wife has a laptop, and it's a real pain to get somewhat dust-free...
Probably once they get over this shitty Piano black/White Laptop with glossy screen fad. Go back to a flat back or dark grey with a matte screen and we won't have that much of a problem.

I think the smaller (more compact) the laptop, the harder it is to open, and clean. As far as I can tell, e.g. the gigantic Clevo gaming laptops are pretty easy to clean.

However, I'd be more interested in them trying to make sure that the dust doesn't go inside that easily in the first place. Air should be rather blown, not sucked, inside the laptop (or desktop PC), as then you can control where exactly the fresh air goes inside, and put a filter on that spot.

I was a bit surprised by the "filters" on ASUS G75VW. The filter is so "sparse" that I presume it is supposed to prevent flies and bolts from going in, rather than dust. (see the attachment)

I had overheating issues in the past, but I started using my PSP box as a little table for my laptop. All the fans and hot parts of the laptop would hang off the sides and cool a lot easier... and I probably got more use out of that box than I did my PSP!
Play only on winter-time while sitting in balcony?

well bit more seriously, id start with just opening the laptop and cleaning all the dust. Especially on the older laptops it tends help everything alot.
I wonder if putting a vacuum cleaner on the fan exhaust port would work.

=P
First step : clean the dust.
Then if that's not enough you buy/change stuff.
Laptop users have to clean the dust every 6 months if they want to keep their things in good shape.
There are really some games out there that make your laptop heat up a lot , I had such a problem with only these games witcher 1 , shadowrun returns , two worlds 2 , saints row 2

I am not sure what causes it i am guessing age of the laptop + dust + poor optimization/ demanding requirements by these games ?
