So I'll start out by saying that Red Baron doesn't work on my computer, I don't mean the DOS game I mean the Windows sequel that comes packaged with it, it just crashes when I try to run it. I'm not really mad about this because I use Windows 7 and the game is not listed as Windows 7 compatible on the gamecard.

But I did notice that DotEmu sells the same pack, called "Red Baron History (http://www.dotemu.com/en/download-game/81/red-baron-history) and it's listed as Windows 7 compatible. Does anyone here own this on DotEmu, does the DotEmu version of Red Baron 3D (the Windows game) indeed run in Windows 7 64-bit?

I'm not that concerned, I suppose GOG will eventually get around to compatibilitizing it for Win7 eventually, perhaps in a Glide wrapper or something.

This may help : http://www.gog.com/forum/red_baron_pack/red_baron_3d_in_windows_7
Red Baron does work in Win 7 - that it doesn't list officially compatible is odd because it used too - esp. with 8 being officially supported. If you'd like help - I may be able to help you - but Waiwulf on the sub-forums knows more. His "window" fix linked to by Phc7006 may help you (last post in thread).

However, that the game doesn't come with a glide wrapper from GOG is a touch annoying - I mean a learned how to operate glide wrappers myself because it didn't, but GOG really should provide one. (Note that the game doesn't absolutely need one to work, but the flight graphics are greatly improved - some of the reviews complain about why there are no 3D graphics and that the graphics suck are due to the fact it doesn't have a glide wrapper)

Thanks for the suggestions. Yeah weird that it's listed as compatible for Win 8 but not 7

Yeah, I only got Messiah working with nGlide too and Messiah's 3DFx executable was even missing from the package (as I keep banging on about)
Is there a chance GOG will ever go back to this game and add "official" 3dfx support etc do you guys think?
It works for me. If it makes you feel any better, you're not losing much . The original is much better .
