Though you can get Terran conflict & Albion prelude together for just 5€ more than just Terran Conflict. And all of Egosofts games have been buggy on release. When you release such complex games, that is to be expected, and they have been good at patching their games.

For 40€ you will get every X-game done to date, in the form of the superbox (if you buy a retail superbox and register it on steam, the Albion prelude will be added to your steam list, even though the superbox pre-dates Albion prelude.

Also, if you want economics simulators, have you checked out Capitalism? I've only played Capitalism plus, but I thought it was a rather good game.
I've also heard a lot of good about Cities in motion. It is a game about public transportation, where the goal is to make public transportation as profitable as possible. They released a collection of the base game and all DLC not too long ago.


I don't know about you, but I think Hot dogs, Hot Girls looks a lot more interesting...

+1. In fact, I've enjoyed all of that company's games except for the Hot Springs one, which was awesome at first but became dull after 4-5 hours. My fav is the Grand Prix one, I think I spent more than 20 hours on it.

I know you can get Albion Prelude pretty cheap, but my opinion about it still stands... the main issue seems to be a degrading performance problem that makes long-running games practically unplayable. Hopefully it will be patched, but then again it has been known for a long time and got worse with Albion Prelude. There is some other stuff (player HQ, Hub) that is not included in AP so far, and you could as well just pick it up at a later date for 2,50€ when it's on sale (I suppose one such sale will happen when Rebirth is released...)

btw Ubi, if you even think about saying the name of that-game-which-is-not-to-be-mentioned, I will personally fly to Germany and eat your neighbors kitten!

Those "obscure" simulator / tycoon games are usually the best, so if you have anything in mind, please let me know. I'll wait a few hours and then draw the random poster who gets the gog game

Street cleaning simulator is not only mildly obscure, it has also an impressive 9.1 score from users on Gamespot!


As you said that you were interested in economics sim games here are a few others that you might be interested in:
East India company. By no means a flawless game, but it is fun. You basically run an East India trading company. Like many Paradox released games, it is a bit on the buggy side, but it also offers a lot of depth and interesting historical facts.
Patrician 3 is another economics game, which offers a lot of interesting choices. I would recommend going straight for te 3rd game and skip the first two, after all, there is no connecting story.
The guild deals with things on a slightly smaller scale, but offers a deep & interesting experience as well. You basically run a guild during the 15th century (though the game also lets you do some more illegal things). I thought that The guild 2 was better, but most people seem to find the first game to be the one to get.
Capitalism 2. While I've only played the first game in the series, most people seem to think that the second one is better (apart from GOGians it would seem, 2 has a marginally lower average score). The game allows you to buy, trade, sell and manufacture goods, with the end goal of getting as much money as humanly possible.



And to move away from economics games:
Mig Alley is an interesting flight sim that takes place during the Korean war. I for one find most flight sims that takes place later on to be far less interesting, jets fly too fast and dogfights often just comes down to 1hit-1kill in those, but Mig Alley do still offer interesting dogfights.

Art of Murder - I've personally only played one game in the series (Cards of Destiny). It is a budget title adventure game but you are investigating murders and trying to stop a serial killer. I had a lot of fun and it made me felt like a detective.
Microsoft Flight - Not out yet. Will be free to play a neutered version but will be the return of a once loved flight simulator.
Fate of the World - A global economics / political / environment sim that tasks you with ensuring peace and/or a healthy planet.
Universe Sandbox - Mess with gravity, mess with the rotation / orbit of planets, play god!
Out of the Park Baseball - If you like the sport, I've spent a lot of time with this one. It's not so much a game as a "fantasy baseball program" but figured I would add it to the list.

Sorry if some of my suggestions aren't exactly what you wanted. Hopefully someone has given you a suggestion you like! I'm actually going to use a suggestion or two that have been posted by other people as I get in the mood for these on occasion, too.

I can't get the universe sandbox to work, it just crashes within the first 5 minutes :/

That art of murder series looks actually pretty good, gonna check that out soon.

Again, it's an adventure game and not really a sim, but the puzzles and clues are almost all reasonable.
