well as some people pointed out a few of my faves already, red faction and alien versus predator, ill just point you towards the one i came to enjoy a lot lately

Alien Rage Unlimited

damn good atmosphere, nasty bosses, awesome soundtrack and you can onlycarry 3 different guns at a time, so no micro management inventory crap :)

check out the trailers and try the demo on steam, won't harm :)

tinyE: Doom 3 is okay but you think at a state of the art military/scientific installation they would be able to afford more dependable backup lighting!
avatar
Ghildrean: You could try the BFG Edition. I think they replaced the bulbs with something more powerful in that version. Besides, the flashlight is part of the armor and has enough power to nearly melt those pesky little creatures that jump on you.
D3 runs just right on my OS, is the BFG a huge tweek on specs because it wouldn't take much to start killing my frames.
I recommend you Shadow Warrior, both Classic and 1997!
Then, there is also Serious Sam (no matter which, as long as it's not SS2): great arena shooter, you can't go wrong with this if you're searching for some really chaotic fun!
P.S. Not in for the games. Thanks though!

I think they used the same engine as Rage to port the game, so yes, the specs are higher.
Just to name a few I haven't seen here so far:
- Painkiller Black Edition
- Shadow Warrior
- Mace Griffin Bountyhunter (not great but decent)
- Max Payne 1 + 2
- Prey
- Quake 4
- Star Trek: Elite Force 1 + 2

Not in.

F.E.A.R. (2005) is the game you're looking for.

Austrobogulator: Hard Reset is definitely the answer.
That was my thought as well!
Since nobody has mentioned it yet, let me recommend Rogue Trooper. A game that I enjoyed from start to finish. It is a bit on the easy side on normal difficulty, but fortunately, the game has 2 higher difficulties to adjust any of your needs. I would also recommend Judge Dredd: Dredd vs Death. Both games do have some story, though I'm not sure I would call them Oscar material.

Oh, and I'm not in by the way.

Tower of Guns
Rise of Triad
Shadow Warrior (2013)

I am not in for the games, but thanks for the giveaway!

Actually, I only mentioned GOGs, but here's a better list for you:

Hard Reset
Tower of Guns
Shadow Warrior classic or not
Rise of the Triad classic or not
Sin Gold
Call of Juarez Gunslinger
Syndicate 2012
Serious Sam 3 BFE

I personally haven't played this, but people like it: Blood (One Unit Whole Blood).

Of those you can get here, be sure to check out Undying. Really good lovercraftian horror with pretty interesting plot and setting.
Of all FPS games Mysteries of the Sith hold special place in my heart (if you don't mind Star Wars setting and pretty outdated graphics). You can't get it on GOG (yet) but it's on Steam and costs peanuts there.

I really, really wish GOG could get F.E.A.R.! Vote for it!

BFG Edition was NOT ported to the RAGE engine, (not sure where our fellow poster got that info) they say they "enhanced' the graphics but I didn't notice a difference. I read somewhere that all they did was tweak the lighting and update some player model faces. I'm 98% sure if doom 3 runs great on your PC it will run just as well with BFG.

Thank you sir. I can get the whole package for about $10 on Amazon so I'll think about it.
