EC-: They are making a movie, which I don't intend on seeing. I'm sure that whatever the movie creators come up with will not match my mind's eye view of the OASIS.
I would have my doubts about a movie as well, but all fairness, Ernest Cline (the author of Ready Player One) also wrote the screenplay for the movie Fanboys, which was a really fun celebration of all things Star Wars, so it's possible he could make a Ready Player One movie work.
Reading it now, about halfway through. It's good, but nothing earth-shattering. For me the main appeal is I was born about the same time as Halliday, so it's like "Ah yes, the good old days." Aside from some gaming tidbits there's nothing really obscure; pretty much all the 80's things he talks about were the popular, well-known things.

I wouldn't mind a movie, though.
