I agree with the OP. Let's face it, the game manual isn't really an 'extra'.

This is one of the very few things, imo, where steam 'beats' GOG. It's nice to be able to browse a manual before buying the game.

In all seriousness, while I would agree that it would be a nice option I never considered it to be a huge difficulty finding that sort of information out before purchase, which is why I was kind of being a smart ass earlier. The ability to re-map keys is actually a sticking point with me and I've never had trouble learning about that before hand. On top of that 'AllGames' has every control scheme imaginable for every game on every system. As for manuals some good links are already up here and even without those a simple Google of any title and the word "manual" should get you what you want so long as the game is known to exist in this universe.

It's a game! :O Can we please turn the melodrama down just a tad? You make it sound like you are planning to climb Everest or more agonizing still, get married.
There's a manual for marriage?

Usually no :D

That's all i'm saying. It's a nice option to have, a customer friendly option, one that i would like to see implemented on GOG. It's not about difficulty, it's about convinience, although, yes, most times it's not that difficult to find the information you're looking for.

Also, considering that the feature is offered on other platforms and the ever increasing overlap in catalogues, well, let's just say i think it would be in GOG's best interest not to have people going off site while considering a purchase simply to be able to browse the game manual.

Considering Hitler's habit it's a little close to the mark, don't you think?

No argument there. It would cut out sorting through a lot of stuff you don't need just to get one small bit you do need, not to mention that GOG tweeks a lot of the older stuff and some of the generic manuals may not cover that.

snip
Try telling that to Kickstarter project creators that include it in higher tiers than the one netting you the game.

Maybe I'm spoiled from the era when it was the norm for games to come with manuals, but I so totally agree with you.

Godwins Law has been proven once again!

While it would be a nice feature to have manuals available before purchase, they are fairly easy to get off the internet.

I like Godwin`s Law. It`s a testament to how much impact ww2 had (for the worse), and how predicable how we human can be, just keep repeating history :P
