EverettLamb: Excellent bundle :)

Lou: Still have that bundle - Even Al-Qadim was fun
Indeed and I've seen people request Al-Qadim here :)
Before my time, sadly. I watched a let's play of Strahd's Possession on youtube and it seems like a cool fucking game though. If these came out on GOG I would surely buy them and then never play them. Get on it GOG!
Seems there is 10 copies of that bundle on Amazon. any one know if you can get them to run on a windows 7 pro computer?

Here, in fact. Al-Qadim rules, vote for it! :)
Good old Stone Prophet, nothing like wandering from desert tent to desert tent, fighting vampires and trying not to die from exposure to the sun

I won't sugar-coat it for you, the gameplay is dated, but the horror atmosphere of the game is just awesome.

I haven't seen another game quite like it since.

It just has that feel that you'll remember for years to come and it captures the essence of Ravenloft extremely well.

Theta_Sigma: Ah, good man while I'm a Pathfinder fan, I do enjoy AD&D more in some situations over 3rd/3.5ed.
To be exact, I play a modded version of 2nd Edition which I have tweaked a lot over the years.

Overall, I don't think they added anything worthwhile with the later game mechanics.

I tend to prefer the incremental approach of just fixing what is broken and improving on the concept rather than tear everything down and start from scratch, but I get that it's not the most lucrative path if you're a company looking to maximize profits.

Theta_Sigma: Ah nice, yeah, I am happy to say I do some batshit crazy things still when I play games. For example my character kicking an rather pissed off orc in the crotch. :P
I tend to roleplay my characters a lot, both good and evil.

My evil characters have done things that are messed up enough that I'm pretty sure I'd commit an infraction against some terms of use for this forum if I repeated them here.

Al-Qadim, Ravenloft series, Menzoberranzan, Dark Sun series, they are great, and I had great times playing them all. Hopefully one day they will arrive here.

1) Yeah, understandable, though Pathfinder I find is more in that light of fixing things with 3.5 rather than like what they do every edition in D&D.

2) Yeah I tend to stick to chaotic neutral personalities, I like being more morally ambiguous rather than adhering to a strict moral compass...or lack there of. Again that's the nice thing - different strokes for different folks, and all that.

Hmm, you may find the Counter Monkey videos on The Spoony Experiment entertaining than. He tells a lot of rather humourous and interesting anecdotes about past games, and campaigns he's participated in. I remember him telling a rather dark one about a Rogue's World campaign.
IF any of you play NWN online. There is a server called Prisoners if the Mist. It is a Roleplay server based in Ravenloft. You start in Barovia, but can travel to Port O Lucien, Hazlan, and others. It is all about Gothic Horror!

Yeah, it's a great server, but be aware that it's very heavy on Roleplay, which means you're bound to strict rules on how you play (no running in cities without reason, no out-of-character-talk etc.).
dark sun is even greater then ravenloft. thats one of the few games i ever finished all the way through, so i have good memories of it.

Yeah, Dark Sun heaps better combat due to it being turn-based and isometric instead of first-person/real-time like Ravenloft/Menzo, combat was finicky and annoying in those games.
