I'm thinking of getting Vampire: The Masquerade – Bloodlines (the first person RPG one), but i'm wondering, can I run it with this setup?
Intel Core 2 Duo 2.66 Ghz, 3 GB RAM, ATI Radeon HD 3450 (256 MB), Windows XP Pro Edition SP3
I wanna be sure I can run it before dropping $60 on a boxed copy from amazon. I've also heard that my graphics card doesn't run Half Life 2 so well and I know that Bloodlines uses the Source Engine too which is why I asked this Q.

I'm not sure if there would be compatibility problem. I'm not very experienced with PC gaming having come from a console gaming background. The only issue i've seen online is that it won't run on Windows 7 because of some video card acceleration feature or something that 7 doesn't support (If I read that right...).
As for download, i'd rather not deal with DRM or download clients. I wish gog would get it, but I have a felling Activision might be stingy toward gog with this one. I hope i'm wrong.

The main thing stopping Activision from selling VtMB in GOG is probably the fact that it's still selling for 20$ at other DD services. If the sales and prices drop low enough they might reconsider.

I was curious about what the issue with your Radeon card might be, so I reinstalled the game and played for a bit. It runs very nicely at maximum detail levels. Your computer is similar to mine, so I'd say you have nothing to worry about.
I don't blame you for that. Online authentication significantly drops the price I'm willing to pay, and mandatory clients are just an unnecessary hassle. I rarely spend more than $20 on one game in the first place, so spending $20 on Direct2Drive would definitely give me pause. Still, $60 is a hefty bit of cash.
It's worth mentioning that GOG has noted recently that they're considering expanding their price range in both directions. I doubt they want to go all the way to $19.99, but it wouldn't surprise me to see Bloodlines on this site for $14.99 some time this year.
Really, the game is over five years old and a $9.99 price tag would be fitting, but I guess there's still a considerable demand for it.

And yes, the demand obiously is high still, shame Troika isn't around to reap the benefits :(

They've mentioned it in a few of the interviews they've done over the past six months - this one, for example. There's a forum thread about it here.

Thanks. They are considering adding more price points but article did not give anything specific about the prices (except both higher and lower being considered) nor about time table. I personally don't mind as long as it'll bring more games here. Hopefully it does not mean that Ubi will use higher pricepoint with all it's games when it's introduced :P
