Well, I still play Q3 the old way (and the best way), as *Dave3d{BC}, but more often with an alias since team {BC} is no more.
I got into the Quake Live thing while it was in beta, but it is nowhere near the same experience as real Q3.

You probably don't have the latest version of PB.
Go to http://www.evenbalance.com/ and download the latest version of PB.
Install it and let it search for games.
Than update to the latest version from within PB.
After that it should work.
Be sure to start PB before running the game and make sure it can always connect to the internet. Also always update before running the game.
It should work that way, I and many others have had the same problem 1-2 years ago and this fixed it. I haven't had a problem since.

Care to elaborate? I personally am not looking forward to BFH either, but I'd like to hear about what the gameplay is like. Personally, it looks like a ripoff of TF2 and dumbed down BF mechanics
Anyway, I had a Quake Live account since beta, but I'm a bit pissed at the management side. It's already been months, and still no Asian servers yet. What, do they rank Asians as the lowest priority of their loyal supporters, or do they think that Asians are only good with gold and a hoe?
Maybe I'm a bit bitter, but I really want to get a game going with my fellow local Quakers. It's been a long while since I last had a good, evenly-matched deathmatch

Yeah, sucks to have no Asian servers. The closest I can get is in Australia.

That's what I initially thought too, but apparently they made it more interesting with the leaderboards, and the server browser is better for matching you with the right players, so you don't get owned too hard or own too hard

I'm enjoying the achievements, as well. As far as Battlefield Heroes goes, I think they're focusing more on earning points to buy stuff like sunglasses or new shoes for your character, rather than actual gameplay. It's pretty much mostly about your character. Customization is always cool, but when it replaces actual gameplay, no thanks.

Yeah. It's not like any of the other BF games, not even close. They're even planning on charging for some of the items.

Hooray... know where exactly in Asia? It wouldn't do much good if it were in Nepal.

I enjoyed the Quake Live beta. Never played it much though, only 2-3 games. Maybe I should play more, but I can't be bothered to boot up my 'proper' PC much these days, much prefer playing GOGs on my eeePC :D Strangely Q3A runs a dream on this here eeePC, but not QL :(
