somegamer786: So, you may have heard about the PS4. I know we not all hardcore or Console gamers but the new generation of consoles can be a big thing. Let's talk about.

Pros

-Can support resolution of 4 ks
-Supports 1080p
-Can use 3d

Cons
-No backward compatibility

So if you ever consider buying it, will buy it or not?
Has any of this stuff even been confirmed yet? Last time I heard anything about it this was nothing more but a rumor. Also the PS3 already Supports 1080p and 3D.

Anyway I will probably end up getting the PS4 eventually, simply because I like Sony's consoles for the most part. I've had a majority of them over the years and have enjoyed them pretty well.

Roman5: Everything that we will hear until the release of the next Xbox and PS systems is just pure rumour and speculation

this happens before the release of every console
This is also why I can't say yes or no. The only for sure no is if I don't have the cash by then.
If most of the rumors are true, that would be a no. Would suck again if they made this console with no backward compat. too! Just hate stuffing my entertainment center with too many consoles & not enough room.

Even if Sony states that the PS4 won't have backwards compatibility?

BIG Con:
Can't play used or second-hand games.

Sony is just begging for a class action lawsuit from consumers.

Pay several hundred bucks for another source of backloggery? I think I'll pass.
Not - I have yet to buy a PS3 so I guess it will be awhile before I get around to 4.

Have they actually stated this, though? I haven't seen anything official on that yet. Also note that there's a big difference between "no" and "some" BC. Most of the original Xbox games that are worth playing are compatible with the 360 now, even if they weren't on release.
I will buy it.

Until the release a console things can change, so even official statements before that should be taken with a grain of salt
I skipped this gen of consoles. First time in my life that i dont own a current console. I bought a very good laptop for $350 and it was a much better deal than any of the current consoles. I'm able to play all the current gen games no problem and my laptop can play all the older games and do so much more :) I'm extremely happy that i gave up on consoles, so my answer is definitely a big NO to the PS4.
someone forgot to mention that next gen ps4 or 720 you wont be able to play used games

So your saying that the PS4 is subject to change until they release it. I understand what you meant by your first statement now. But you can still say that an official statement from Sony is still closer to fact then any other wild rumor we are hearing about.

Ah yes, because every bit of news that comes out about the PS4 is 100% true.

"You know, the PS4 will cost $1500 and will be played entirely with your mind. True story, confirmed."

Unless Sony says anything, don't believe anything you hear about it..

Sorry, I meant that as an example IF Sony actually stated that.

michaelleung: The original PS3 had an actual PS2 CPU inside the unit, and I guess they couldn't be bothered to do software emulation.
PSN received a bunch of PS2 Classics recently. Not the HD remakes, the real thing. They run via software emulation.
