Thespian*: Well, an insect doesn't need to be huge to be venomous. Indeed, the smaller subespecies of an order are often the most poisonous of all (think of the Mohave rattlesnake versus its big relative, the anaconda).
Venom is also metabolically expensive to produce. This is why many snakes deliver a first, venom-free warning strike, before landing a full one.

Frankly, insects don't really need any more edge in killing us.

Speaking as someone with photographic memory (though blessedly, if involuntarily, selective), I'd much prefer a pill that lets you forget some things. This one is actually in development, however.

Yep, I watched a documentary about the topic of selective memory erasing, they were using a treatment (don't know if it's was the same pill) in PTSD patients (amongst other people haunted by terrible events in their lifes), with good results. I'd be interested in that one, too. ;)
