What Old School games are you proud that you still own the disks for after all these years?
What games are you ashamed that you no longer own? (sold, lost , gave away)
Please don't go crazy and post every single game you have ever owned otherwise if your like me you have a humongous list that nobody will want to read. Just post the ones that are most precious to you.
PRIDE:
*Day of the Tentacle, *Sam and Max, *Money Island 1, 2, 3 (I have #4 but I'm not proud of it)
*Indiana Jones and the Fate of Atlantic, *Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade, *The Dig, *Full Throttle, *Grim Fandango, *Loom, *Maniac Mansion
*Quarantine (see the SHAME list)
*Creature Shock
*Under a Killing Moon
SHAME:
*The copy protection sheet for Quarantine (some fool threw it away)
*Pandora Directive (my older brother gave it away but forgot to whom)
*Rise of Triad (hell if I know what happened to it)
*Terminal Velocity (its in the same place as the Rise of the Triad disk)
*Ultrabots (not because it was a good game but because.....id rather not say)
*StoneKeep (I never really owned this game but could have easily taken my friends copy for the asking)
I'm sure there are more that my brain has forgotten about to save me from the pain
Pride : Monkey Island 1 & 2, both PC and amiga, get in ! :)
All of my spectrum and Atari 2600 gear
Grim Fandango
D.O.T.T.
Syndicate
Maniac Mansion NES Cart lol
Shame :
*I got a barbie dress up thing on the PC off a cover disc awhile back, I became hooked on designing my friends dodgy looking hookers on it and then spamming their emails all day lol. Im secretly proud of myself though haha.
*The 7th Guest, not based on gameplay, based purely on I swore i'd break it if i didnt get out of the tunnels within the half hour id set myself. Still not broke it. Still stuck lol.
*I too owned and lost the Quarantine cop prot sheet, I still beleive a friend of mine stole it on purpose in retaliation to the barbie scandal.
I still have my disc of Red Alert 2 and Red Alert 2: Yuri's Revenge. I have to disc to Diablo. But that's about it.
The earliest game I bought that I'm most proud of is Phantasy Star 4.
Most PC games I have are recent eBay aquisitions, so they don't really count.
I mostly have shame..
I've lost not one, but three sets of Diablo Chest CDkeys.
otherwise, I'm happy to have the original boxed collectors edition of deus ex.
also, stubbs the zombie for PC, i know it's not old, but I don't see many copies of it around...
as well as KOTOR, starwars Jedi Knight II, and Age of Empires (all of them but the most recent one.. which is crap..)
i've moved house too often in the last 15 years.
but what i still have are:
pride:
4 disc planescape torment
bg 1 & 2, with the expansions for each
IWD 1 & 2 with the heart of winter expansion
romance of the three kingdoms 1, 2 (NES), 3 (genesis) and 4 (PC). in boxes w/ manuals etc.
fallout 1 & 2
shame: (very mild, mind)
fallout tactics
master of orion 3 (one of the most annoying "could've been great" games i've ever played.)
that's all. i no longer have any other games in boxes / on discs except for mass effect (never used), age of conan and some strange compilation disc found in a bargain bin with knight shift, mystery of janatris, jack orlando, another war, gorky 17 and septerra core all on it.

in my book, that sounds like just enough fun to wipe away any possible shame.
Pride:
i have the tape for a chess game for the spectrum (dosnt get anymore retro then that)
3 boxes (size small) of floppy disks with amiga games
Super mario towel :)
Shame:
All pokémon games
...
..
.
with all pokémon caught
Pride :
Having the box of Shadow Warrior,
Having every single Sim City in box (except Societies which sucks)
Shame :
... destroyed my Amstrad PC-1512. The 5" boot floppy was not functioning anymore so I decided to take a look inside... couldn't fix it anymore. I was so sad... My first gaming experience with Paratroopers, Space Invaders... A FUCKING SHAME.
I should have keep it intact and put it on a throne.
:'(.

hahaha! i'd be proud of those carts. i LOVE the pokemon games. i bought gb-color and a DS *just* to play each respective new poke-game. but i also bought a neo geo color pocket (six days before SNK america closed up shop) *just* to play card fighter's clash, so i'm probably suspect.
pride:
- full throttle, (proud of our russian fans, who made an XP compartible patch for this sweetie, and oh, proud of having boxed version bought on ebay)
- gabriel knight 1, (boxed!!!)
- baldur's gate (ashamed of selling it on a flea market cause i was too stupid to think i was tired of it. really proud of being able to find my own box on the same market half a year later. (recognized it by some scratches on disc one))
shame:
- 7th guest (broke the disc in halves after ~100th try of solving some puzzle (what puzzle it was now escapes my memories))
- legend of kyrandia series. lended the discs to some freak who never returned them...
- diablo 1. we were playing this fantastic game in my friends house, because he had access to battle.net. some time later his house was robbed. robbers took the tv, pc and cds, including my diablo :(. i managed to find this game some time later, but i still miss that first cd.

thats nothing to be ashamed off. thats just plain annoying
Pride: Incubation (I even force this game to install on Win XP), Shogun total War with expansion, all Black isle Infinities engine RPG (Planescape, BG 1 & 2 with expansions, IWD with expansion), Fallout 1 and 2, Dungeon Keeper, Poplous 3.
Shame: Panzer General, Kotor, Black and White, Warhammer: Dark Omen, Sindicate, Lemmings.
Pride :
-Still have all of my old C64 Ultima boxes along with their cloth maps and "feelies" - metal ankh, etc.
Shame :
-All of the older consoles and their games that I traded in to buy new consoles, back when I was younger and didn't have any income. It still pains me that I no longer have my old SNES RPG's and my Saturn/Genesis/SegaCD stuff. :( So many lost games I kick myself for selling.
