GOG has only ever had two price points, aside from the obvious exception of TW2. I checked the news announcements and didn't see any statements regarding the new policies (if there are any). Since this thread is semi-appropriate for the question, exactly what is the new policy (besides keeping the same price worldwide, which GOG has already made clear)?

I think the new policy is to introduce third price point, $14.99. I've read blue text somewhere that GOG will not release any higher priced games.

BTW: GOG catalogue still isnt prepared for this new price point - it lists only free / $5.99 / $9.99 points. :P

the announcement that GOG would be getting newer games came with a statement that it would also be getting additional price points to appease publishers; I know that 14.99 was mentioned, but not sure if it also was going to get 19.99 aswell.

... I think it was said (or at least implied) that it would be a gradual roll out with 14.99 being first and then at some point later on advancing upward.

That's fine, I was just a bit surprised that they didn't say anything about it (that I saw) with all the other hubub and the fact that it's staring you in the face as soon as you arrive (20% discount == 11.99, wait, what?). It made me look twice and check the announcements more closely, wondering if I'd missed any other important details.
See, I recall a debate about the concept, ages ago, after the whole questionnaire thing, I don't recall any official-like announcements or statements, though, just a very polarized debate among forum users.

I don't remember any official announcement about price points. One of the survey questions asked how much I would be willing to pay for 1-3 year old games. I just assumed that indicated new price tiers were likely to be introduced.

Hmm, looks good enough, and will certainly cater to my Wizardry nostalgia. Price looks ok, too.

Nice to see that some people are taking a fresh look at some good and neglected oldies. Games such as the old SSI AD&D franchise would be awesome if handled with sufficient care by a developer.

Pre-ordered it. Let's hope it is a worthy dungeon crawl.

Well yes people probably should but for whatever reason people will still end up buying it from GOG and steam eventually, whenever it goes on sale there. Not entirely sure why, maybe it doesn't occur to some people the developers might be selling it on their own website for one. Either way, developers continue to have their games hosted on other DD's along with their own, so it must bring in enough money and widen their audience enough for it to be worth it.

A point though, one that time will make irrelevant. I wonder what the difference is between, how much the are making selling their game on gog, to selling and hosting it themselves while they currently have the 20% off sale. Well I can do little more than wonder since I have no idea what the costs are for either.

EDIT: Oh, only from their website it's being hosted on the humble store beta. Whatever that brings with it.

Wanting really nice graphics features => need to use a recent engine => forces minimum specs up.

As for compression, the grid-based system allows them to build the environment out of a relatively small number of tiles, reducing the static storage requirements (HD space) dramatically while still permitting a very large and nicely detailed world. This is actually visible in the video if you check for it, but it seems so natural in the square world that it doesn't really detract even when you know it's there.
Do we know if it has the achievements in-game? I know that some Humble Bundle games have achievements built-in that map to Steam but work locally if you have not steam-activated them . . .

The nostalgia is strong with this one. The Eye of the Beholder series is one of my all-time favourites, and Legend of Grimrock presses all the right buttons for me.

So of course I've preordered it. :)

This game is already a legend and it hasnt come out yet ;p
