Preorder this charming point & click exploration game on GOG.com, save 10%, and get access to a cornucopia of awesome goodies for just $8.99!

Rarely you find a group of people with imagination and drive to surprise and amaze gamers quite like Jaromír Plachý and Amanita Design. These guys are indie devs that grabbed attention of gamers worldwide with eerie flash point-and-click Samorost, followed by Samorost 2 which won Best Web Browser Game in 2007, and their follow-up, the multiple award-winning Machinarium, their first full-length adventure and recent release on GOG.com.

Botanicula is point-and-click exploration game about five little friends: Mr. Twig, Mr. Lantern, Mr. Poppy Head, Mrs. Mushroom, and Mr. Feather. They all set out for a journey to save last seed from their home tree, which is infested by nasty parasites. The non-traditional storyline encourages you to explore, experience the new sights, meet strange tree creatures and listen to the music, rather than simply powering through the game and finding a solution. The original soundtrack and sound effects are created by Czech alternative band DVA and already won the game the Excellence in Audio award at IGF a few weeks ago. To add to the perfect game image, stylized graphics of Botanicula are mesmerizing and radiant, as you can easily see in the video.

Botanicula is a game of great atmosphere, funny animations, delightful music and playfulness. You can enjoy it for only $8.99 (that’s 10% off the original price!) in preorder, which ends on 19 April at 10.59 GMT.
I bought 5 seconds after pre-order start ;)

RB: What does "soundtrack demo" exactly mean?

Dolantin: This uncertainty is the one thing holding me back from buying.
As far as I understood from the conference it does NOT seem to be the OST (which Amanita sells seperately for their older games and maybe plans to do the same for this game)
I wished a gog member could elucidate.
Acording to an article I read*, the full soundtrack is only included if you buy directly from the developers; which is both understandable and kinda lame.

While it's nice to see good indie games appear here, I'm not entirely sold on the concept yet, if it means that GOG only gets to sell games that are already available DRM-free elsewhere (e.g. from the developer, at the same price and with more goodies on top of it, like Botanicula and LoG), or games that in exchange for being cheap and DRM-free come without other features of the DRM version (such as multi-language support in the case of TWW).

* I think it was on indiegames.com, but for some reason the site currently seems to be under malware suspicion, so I don't dare to check it and provide a link.
This is looking beautiful.

Astonishing their evolution, from a flash game with already good visuals, to this new game, which I guess has full 1080p support.

We have three of the tracks from the full OST.

Okay, let's see if gog's taste is good enough to choose the best 3 tracks:-)
I'll buy it here, and probably the OST will come in a future HIB.

And don't forget: Marketing IS a service. The devs get more sales by distributing through gog. Thus I share my money to the devs and gog, like I share it in the HIB. In the long run, this is the way to go for small developers, imo.

Definitely, that's an excelent idea Navagon.
Soundtrack is awesome (well, demo tracks).
To bad that there is no Linux version included, so I have to buy it somewhere else.
You should mark this as "completed" on the Community wishlist. Just a reminder...
