Tooms: I'm sorry you had a bad experience with the Church growing up. Bad people can be found in any position of authority among human beings, sadly including the Church. As far as change happening, many necessary changes to rid the Church of bad priests and provide a safer environment for children have already been made. What changes are you waiting to see?
I never said I had a bad experience with the church. I just saw it for what it was, a way to find a living in the world off of other people, preying on the weak minded and destitute, a way to force their distorted views on others, akin to politicians.

What change I would like to see, is an end to the bigotry and hate of certain people. Respecting people's freedom of choice: which includes condoms, sex before marriage, abortion, homosexuality, etc. Basically get out of people's lives unless those people happen to ask for assistance. Also, I would like to see the church pull it's fair share in the community that includes paying taxes. And get off my damn TV...can we move all religious bullshit to Monday 8-11am. Sunday is my break from all the bullshit in the world and I have to see that on TV.

Edit: Also an end to door to door visits...mostly Jehova's, but they are the same in my eyes. Also, approaching people in parking lots to spread the word of God.

Tooms: So the Church should never change? What about when the Tridentine Mass was new? It was ok to change then? Who says you have to watch youtube? You can still find it said many places.
So the dying should travel?

Over a thousand years for that Mass, utilizing a language that dates back to the time of Christ, Himself.

Many felt a link that transgressed time, and felt a kinship to all those who had passed before, only to have it disappear before their eyes. It is for those I feel, and to those I have to provide shoddy youtube videos, so that they might feel at ease for something that is not provided.

As for me, I couldn't care less, and in a generation, no-one will miss the old rites either.

It will pass, just as the Church will, and your children will be able to thank you, just as our elders thank us.
