Been trying to post here a few times yesterday, but the site wouldn't let me. :-/ Anyone else experience any difficulties yesterday?
Anyway, hoping this one goes through, Juhius and ElPrimordial, I've added you to the draw, and Hairyfiend, I've taken you out (thanks for letting me know and enjoy your new games! :-) ).

Seems like when I quote a message, the site glitches and my reply fails to show up here, sooooo, gonna try it this way! :-)
@pi4t:
Thank you for your recommendations! I've heard of the Dungeon & Dragons rulesets, but I'm not really familiar what they all include, let alone what the differences are between the 2, 3 or 4th editions. Thank you for the link, that sure will come in handy, I'll definitely read through that before I head back in game. Might want to start over when I'm familiar with the characteristics and their values in character creation, I didn't get very far yet so that's no problem. And I'll be sure to drop by the BG forum when I have a question, good to know there's such an active community for these games! Great to hear also you can take your character from BG 1 on into BG 2, that'll be fun!
@belomar:
Oh, you're absolutely right. Just figured TA would be a good RTS for a newb like me since you and Soccorro both recommended it, while also saying you weren't very good at this type of game. :-)
@Nikk:
Ooooh, actually I wasn't! :-) I picked up the games in the D&D bundle, but hadn't looked around the site for more info on mods and such. These sound awesome! I also see they enable you to play both as one large game, that's great! Thanks for pointing out the link to me Nikk!
@Juhius:
You're in! :-) Hehe, I'm the same. I was drawn here because of the game titles I knew from back in the day, and am slowly discovering a lot of fantastic games I've never even heard of, I love it here! :-) I have the games you recommended, definitely looking forward to playing through both the Fallout and BG series!
@ElPrimordial:
Added you to the draw! :-) Lolz, picking just one can be difficult I know, glad to see others were able to coax into giving up a list of multiples. ;-) And great pickin's too! Love Gabriel Knight, I'm getting into Baldur's Gate and Fallout now, I enjoyed the game Jack Keane a few years ago, already got Duke Nukem, IHNMAIMS during these sales, The Witcher is already on my wishlist and I'll now add the others you mentioned. Thanks! :-)
@rawmilk905:
Hi Rawmilk905, thanks for the recommendations! NWN has popped up a few times in this thread, so I think I'll dive into those games once I'm done with the BG games. Hadn't heard of Ghost Master before, it looks like fun! Same goes for Overlord, hehe looks like that one's got a great sense of humor as well! The UFO games look interesting too, are they in any way related to the older X-Com games, like UFO Defense?
@Hairyfiend:
Woot, so glad to hear you were able to grab the entire d&d deal after all, that one is a great value for money! Thanks for letting me know you're out and enjoy all the new games!

My all time favorite game on GOG is Heroes of Might and Magic 2. The innovations from HoMM 1 are just staggering, making it the best sequel ever made, at least in my opinion. They added proper campaigns(the first one had just generic scenarios). They added hero skills that you learned and develop as you play. They changed the way Knowledge worked, by introducing mana. They added new creatures to all the castles and even added two new castles. They balanced the creatures to a point that would have taken any other company tens patches to achieve(just look at Ubisoft with Heroes 6). They improved the AI to masterfully handle all the newly introduced gameplay elements. They completely overhauled the game visually. And all of that in just one year!!! HoMM 2 is a marvel and credit to the talent behind New World Computing.

Oooh, you picked an awesome game! HoMM2 was the first TBS game I played and boy, did I play the hell out of it! :-) I loved the look of the graphics (and still do), all the different units you could control, the different play styles of each hero type, the AI, the campaigns, the variety in the scenarios, I played this game for years, even often replaying maps I had already finished, just because they were so much fun! I only later got a chance to play the first game in the series when I got it in a strategy games bundle, but I never played it much, the improvements in the sequel are just too big. I did also enjoy HoMM 3, it didn't change that much compared to HoMM, just added more goodness of the same kind, but I agree with you, HoMM 2 is definitely the best in the series!

Hi :) I'm In!
My favorite game here on GOG and perhaps the second best in my whole collection (After Deus Ex) is Pathologic. I could go on for hours (maybe days) trying to explain why it is so i'll just highlight a few key points.
- Real engagement of the player through controls: The controls are not just there as a means to an end but there to immerse you.
- Perhaps one of the best tales of human struggle ever told.
- Three completely different narratives set in a truly unique setting.
- Shows you how there are not good or bad but only grey.
- East-European design? hell yeah!
- Real horror.

Hm, I've never heard of Pathologic before, definitely sounds interesting with very unique game mechanics. Will add it to my wishlist.

You're welcome Melvinica, thank you for entering! :-)
Noticed I hadn't replied to these messages, sorry about that!:
Corwim: Oh, it's a Bioware title? Didn't know that! Definitely need to check that one out then, wonderful this one is available drm-free on Gog. I love the KOTOR games, never got round to finish them though, and now I can't get them to run on my Win7 pc. :-/ Chances are slim I guess, but I would be overjoyed if somehow GOG would manage to get the rights to the KOTOR games and add them to their catalogue.
TimeCrash2: I want the whole LucasArts library added to GOG! Surely Disney wants more bucks!? Oh yes, the LucasArts library on gog would be amazing! I have a few of their adventure games from back in the day, and also the game Afterlife, but so many I've missed as well. Yeah, one should figure that, but apparently Disney (and LucasArts before them) seems to have other thought on that. :-(
Haha, ok added! :-) Sounds like a great mix between rpg and rts, great, also hope that means I have only half a genre to learn to master then with this one. ;-)

Congratulations to the winner MadalinStroe ! I wish he/she (I can't know the sex of this person) will enjoy the game. Well, as for me, I guess I'll just buy it at a later date - after all I acquired quite a backlog during these sales. By the way, I finally bought King of Dragon Pass during yesterday's Fantasy Through History Bundle along the other bundled games- of which I already possessed one (Torchlight), and another one was on my wishlist (The Inquisitor). I haven't played them yet, but I'll get onto it as soon as I can !
