I must say it is my first instant buy ! As soon as I have seen it on email, I came to buy (and I forgot why I opened my mailbox XD). It has been a long time since I wanted to buy those games, and I couldn't say no. I'm weak, but Thanks !

Played the first game for the first time a few months ago, thanks to GOG. Seems like a game I would've enjoyed a lot back in the day, but not so much now. Looking forward to try out Phantasmagoria 2.

It's been too long since I bought a game for GoG - I have to pick something up soon. But not these.

I already have both. I bought the first one and really enjoyed it. It's really weak on gameplay, and super cheesy, but I enjoyed the schlocky horrorshow aspects of it. It's so bad it's good. I haven't played the sequel yet, though I'm looking forward to it.
If you like cheesy FMV games or horror movies, this is worth looking into. If you are looking for great point & click puzzles or engaging gameplay, then this is probably not the title for you. I admit, I shouldn't have enjoyed it as much as I did because there really is not much to the game. You click around until the next story point happens and you see some more video. There are a few average puzzles, but that's all.

Both of these games came out when the horror theme wasn't well developed in the computer gaming industry, and FMV was still a big novelty. In both cases the stories are intriguing (Roberta Williams put a lot of effort into the writing), but the puzzles are very average for Sierra tittles. If you like the horror theme, then you should play these, if only for the sake of the stories. The Gabriel Knight series has stronger puzzle elements, less blood and gore, and more of what I would call "suspense". The two Sierra murder mystery titles with Laura Bow are conspicuously missing from GOG, they are both challenging in the puzzle department and draw an obvious comparison to the much newer Nancy Drew series.
There have been too many good sales on the digital download sites lately, my budget is tapped out. And I have a stack of games to play...

I wouldn't normally buy these types of games, but I was still curious enough about them to purchase them on sale, so now thanks to GoG's temporarily discounted price have I done so.
I remember talking to another gamer in 2001 who worked at a local independent computer hardware and software store about how rare the first Phantasmagora was, and how he'd look out for it in used bins whenever he was on trips because there were people in my city and online who'd pay around $100 for it. I remember the controversy this early FMV game generated, and thought I'd never legitimately get my mitts on a copy (which is the only way I'd ever consider getting one, incidentally). When GoG got the rights to it, of course, my ears perked, though I was reluctant to buy it at the price GoG had initially established for it, a price which will go back into effect after this weekend. I now own a little piece of gaming history, and I thank Good Old Games for sweetening the deal through this promotional discount.

They're worth it even at the regular price.

I'm now trying to consolidate as many of my CD games as possible, GOG is a godsend for this - picked up both of these.

If they are better than D on the Sega Saturn, I'm in. The reviews for the original look strong, the sequel sounds kind of bad.
