Nice article on this dark horse game that is now in the running for a Bafta.

Most of all it is an antidote, Mr Lovell says, to the all-blasting, all-killing romps that have historically populated the gaming charts.
Ahem... Has he actually played the game?

500.000 copies sold? Glory to Arstozka!

Wow - look at the other titles nominated:

Win Grand Theft Auto V

Tomb Raider

Tearaway

Papers, Please

The Last of Us

Assassin’s Creed 4: Black Flag

There's just a tiny $ difference in budgets for each title...
It won in the Strategy and simulation category!

Yet I'd be curious to see whether Papers, Please has had a higher return on investment than those triple As.

Very nice! I see Gone Home won an award too. I really must get around to that one in my backlog.

Its a really good "game" I thought. Different experience than the usual fare at any rate.

Thanks, that's what I like to hear! I enjoy titles that go beyond the usual confines of a game to deliver something special.

He called it an antidote - meaning it is not an all-blasting, all-killing romp.

Things get blasted, people get killed.

Yes, but not ALL the things. ;)

So it's more of a vaccine than an antidote.
This game deserves the recognition. Maybe there's hope for a wider selection of non-traditional themes and gameplay mechanics now, after it won that award.
