Angry Video Game Nerd used to be funny, but lately it's gone south...

ZP is awesome, i literally bought the t-shirt.

I watched some of his videos and it was too much posturing, slur filled rambling, and not enough intelligent reviewing of the games. ZP does cuss but it's not a stream of filth like AVGN is. Plus, he acknowledges the inherent superiority of PC gaming vs. consoles so that is a +1 in my book hehe.

Not really fun. Admittedly, I had a good laugh when I read one Garfield comic with this wonderful speech bubble:
"Yessirtheresnothinglikeagoodhotpotofcoffeefirstthinginthemorninganicehotpotofcoffeeandadoughnottodunkandmucha longwithmoreandmorecoffee"
But that was it. A nice joke, not nearly enough for a mini series. Aside from that, it's mindless bashing, and while I'm willing to fight for my believes as often as necessary, ranging from politics to video games, there's a difference between badmouthing for the sake of badmouthing and argumentation. And he obviously decided to do the former. I realize that humans like to feel superior by talking bad about everything. But that doesn't mean I have to like it.

i kinda agree with hansschmucker, some of his rewiews are just about entertainment more than critizing (like the one of The Witcher), i don't mind that actually but sometimes, in my opinion, it's a bit too much bashing for minor details or gameplay issues.

Maybe he has run out of bad games. :-) Anyway I don't think it is a downhill, just he is like every other comedian don't have always the best jokes, everyone of them has bad jokes one day or another. And Moonwalker was pretty good actually at least at the end. :-)))

As for Yahtzee the new video on TR:U is really good. :D

I like ZP very much. You have to take it for what it is. Naturally, few games suck as badly as Yahtzee makes them sound, but his style is aggressive and humorous, so you have to listen to the specific points he makes, rather than just taking each review in as a whole. Because he does expose very specific flaws in games. And I think we've all tried playing a game, but given up in disgust due to one single flaw that ruined the entire gameplay for us. And people are different. What some see as a game-breaking flaw, others see as a minor nuisance.
Other than that, I just think ZP is friggin' hilarious.

The only problem I have with ZP is that Yahtzee seems to have mellowed slightly in recent weeks... haven't seen the latest yet, so I hope for a return to form. I almost think for a short while he may have thought he was a reviewer first, and a rage-filled rant-machine comic second.

Yahtzee made those awesome horror adventure games. No matter what he does for the rest of his life, he will be awesome for that.

His recent ones seem to be a return to form. Less profane than ome and still funny.
And I really want to buy the "Pants on head retarded" t-shirt but I don't think work would like me wearing it.
