Does anyone know of any good open source CAd software for linux (ubuntu)?

More specifically I'm looking for something to make .stl files of musical instruments for a CT-router.

I've used varicad which works, but I don't really want to pay ~500 euros for it when I only need it's most basic features.
I know blender would work for this, but I find it much easier to make the objects with the tools in CAD software (edge chamfering and such).

Thanks in advance

These are the only ones I know:

Free CAD
BRL-CAD
Archimedes

Not open source (I think):

I'm pretty sure this is where I first found vari-cad, can't remember why I didn't use the other ones... I'll have a quick check of them again.

Yep, varicad is afaik 30 days free but there are some open source apps.

If none of them suits you, I'll recommend you to try LibreCAD.
free-cad looks the best, (I think I tired it before but didn't like the interface, but I'll try again).

thanks dudes.
