I'm fairly positive they're going to announce they're going back into closed beta.
Hey, let's throw a new IRC lottery for gog's birthday.

I'm down with that !

antifood: I think it's September 8th.

cogadh: Nope, the closed beta started in August 2008, I'm pretty sure we already passed the actual 1 year mark.

Early Access Beta started effectively on September 8th, IIRC, and it went to unrestrained public Beta in late October (October 28th, I think). It would be fun to know which date would be GOG's "official" anniversary.
OK, so, as nobody seem to know for sure the exact data, please GoG enlighten us! :D
We might not have one until the site is out of Beta.
I'd have to be public beta surely, thats when the site became open to any and all, basically a grand opening day for a business

This is my assumption as well. I am not aware of any company that has used closed testing as an anniversary date.

Considering we have members here with registered dates of August 2008, a September launch date seems impossible. The original closed beta was scheduled to begin on August 1st of 2008, but it was delayed by a couple of weeks into mid August. The initial public beta started on September 8th and the open beta started in early October. My reg date is October 1st and I was not part of the initial beta group.
I registered on September 10th, I think, as part of the Early Access Beta (limited public beta). I would suppose there was a closed beta before, but I don't really know.
I would like to see Shelf 2.0, and maybe a more robust downloader (that keeps a 'log' of what you download from your library/or lists all the games in your library and allows you to DL em)
I've been here since September 2008, but I only really started posting at around December. This place isn't bad.
Their facebook thingy mentioned the start of the early access beta so presumably there's some tracking of the anniversary going on
Wow, already 1 year of GoGging. :D
50% off, all Steam games.
