I really wanted this but read so much bad press I did not even wish list it

Now with patch 1.0.4 and the drop to all of the DLC and the game to a pre £10 price, is it now worth it ?

I have a few gangsta type games and like them, but the reviews initially made me lose the interest quickly

If I wasn't planning on getting it elsewhere I'd buy it for this price. It didn't seem worth it at full price but from what I've seen it'll probably cover the value of a tenner quite easily, especially if you like the Mobster thing :)

From what I have seen so far it seems to be way too easy on the business part of the game, and the whole thing appears to be more of a story driven scenario based game game where you do what the scenario tells you to do without any strategy of your own. The tactical parts look quite ok,though.
I love games like Gangsters,Pizza Connection or Jagged Alliance, but this still does not tempt me. But please me tell me thats all wrong.

I picked it up at 50% off a while back. It's not a great game, and it does have quite a few issues, but I don't think it deserves all the hate it gets. Maybe 15% of the hate but not all of it. I'd say that if you like the Gangster theme, managment games and turn based combat then it's worth the $10, but not much more than that.

I guess most of the hate comes from the feeling that, at full price, this game is overpriced while not delivering on its promises and from the dlc issue ( to state it bluntly : if they were free, these dlc would only partially alleviate the price level of the game ).

The on-sale bundle is of course a much better deal. The game itself might not be a winner, it not a complete waste by any means. I tried it a while ago, found it acceptable, but not nearly complex enough and too predictible. Let's say it was worth waiting for a substantial price reduction and that , at 11 dollars, it's not not overpriced anymore...
