Hey guys!

Would you like to buy a Theme Hospital doctor's gown? A Syndicate-themed USB drive? A Witcher's medallion? A Planescape: Torment t-shirt?

I know I would. So why don't we ask GOG to make it happen?

And yes, I am aware of the fact that in cases of many games it might be problematic. But I feel GOG should look into it. It's a great way of expanding their business and giving GOG-users what they truly desire.

Please vote for my wish on GOG's wishlist.

gameon: A witcher medallion would be badass!
Yeah, and that's kind of a no-brainer for them, as they (I mean CDProjekt, which owns GOG) own this IP.
I'm pretty sure the CE edition of the Witcher 2 came with a medallion, along with a bunch of other silly stuff (like the bust and papercraft).
That would be really cool, but really problematic due to the fact that usually such items require the copyright owners permission to be produced and sold oficially. Now...GOG sells games, but all the logos, designs, ect still are owned by the current rights holder.
In most cases it would be a nightmare to sign deals to use logos and designs, then to find a designer, then to find a manufacturer, organize a system with world-wide shipping...

As awesome as it sounds it would be too much of a hassle for GOG unfortunately.

but the companies will make loads of money with merchandise.and of course GOG and CDProjekt will gain some money out of it.

If only it was this simple. If they thought they would make a lot of money, they probably would have made many nostalgic gadgets.

hope I got my grammar right...

gameon: Apparently £42 is around $68! Its no wonder my country has been in recession so long (people spending ludicrous money on overpriced things).

You might as well try selling yours if it goes for those kind of prices.
Even tough it's not THE exact same one as Geralt wears, it's too cool to sell :)
I remember that the collector's edition of Witcher 1 had a keychain with a more similar shape to the original medalion: CLICKETY

I know it's not as simple as it sounds, but I feel it's something that GOG people (and their lawyers) should think about. That's why I posted this wish.

So, if you think it's at least worth looking into - vote :)

Of course it would be great and is probably worth voting, but I prefer a more realistic approach, so I don't get my hopes up too much ;)

Well there you go. That's an another fine example of a piece of merch that I would buy.

Anyway I think that GOG could start by selling CD Projekt's merchandise and then expand into other IPs. Come to think about it - selling old games merch (like t-shirts, hoodies, etc...) is also a great way of advertising the site. There are millions of gamers who feel nostalgic about a number of old games but have never heard about GOG. Having people walk around in a Crusader hoodies or Icewind Dale t-shirts will help to spread the message.
